LIVESTREAM: Announcement of Grammy 2022 nominations

The Grammy nominations for 2022 will be revealed today at 5PM GMT time.

Lil Nas X, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Lady Gaga are all expected to be nominees. To be eligible for a nomination at 2022 Grammy awards, a recording had to be released between September 1, 2020, and September 30, 2021.

Eminem did not release an album in this period of time but he did drop the Side B of Music To Be Murdered By album on December 18, 2020, which was accompanied by a music video for a lead single “Gnat”, directed by Cole Bennett.

Slim Shady also dropped the music video for “Higher” premiered on January 23, 2021. Lyric videos for “Tone Deaf” and “Alfred’s Theme” were also released. In May 2021, a remix of “Killer”, featuring Jack Harlow and Cordae, was dropped so there still is a slim chance Eminem to get nominated.

On the other hand, Conway The Machine and former Shady Records’ member Westside Gunn have a big chance of getting nominated in any of the hip-hop categories.

The 64th Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for January 31, 2022 in Los Angeles at what will soon be the arena formerly known as Staples Center.

The livestream for the Grammy nominations is available below and it will start shortly:

Eminem receives nomination at Juno Awards 2021

The Weeknd was controversially snubbed in the nominations for the 63rd annual Grammy Awards, but the Canadian superstar received lots of support and love in his homeland, Canada. The RnB megastar is the leading nominee for the 50th Juno Awards, with 6 nods, including album, artist, single and songwriter of the year.

Eminem has also received one nomination for International Album Of The Year. Check below to see who’s up against Slim Shady in this category:

“Music To Be Murdered By” by Eminem (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope/Universal)
“Fine Line,” by Harry Styles (Columbia, Sony)
“What You See Ain’t Always What You Get,” by Luke Combs (Sony)
“Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon,” by Pop Smoke” (Victor / Republic / Universal)
“folklore,” by Taylor Swift (Republic / Universal)

Eminem snubbed by The Grammys or did he even submit his music?

Was Eminem snubbed by the Grammys? Yesterday, The Recording Academy revealed the nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards and Royce Da 5’9″ got the Best Rap Album nomination, which is up against Nas’ “Kings Disease” D’Smoke’s “Black Habits”, Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist’s “Alfredo” and Jay Electronica’s “A Written Testimony.”

As soon as the nominations were announced, Stans flood the internet, shaming the Grammys staff for snubbing Music To Be Murdered By in Best Rap Album category and “Godzilla,” featuring Juice WRLD in Best Rap Song or Best Rap Performance categories.

Eminem had No. 1 album in the United States this year. Music To Be Murdered By arrived in January as another surprise project, like Kamikaze album. The project shifted 280,000 total album equivalent units in its first week of release and debuted at No.1 on US Billboard 200, propelled by the chart topping single “Godzilla” featuring the late Juice WRLD and one of the biggest storytelling single in last decade, “Darkness.”

The Detroit legend became the first artist in history to have 10 consecutive albums land at No. 1, beating tied record with Kanye West and one of six artists to have released at least 10 No. 1 albums. Eminem was also one of the top streaming artist this year. Despite all this accolades, the Recording Academy did not find the album worthy of a nod, which was not missed by his Stans.

But the main question is… Did Eminem even send his music for submission? Slim Shady and the Grammys are not friends anymore and if Eminem didn’t send his music to the Grammys staff, then it’s logical why Music To Be Murdered By didn’t get any nomination.
