Juelz Santana says Eminem is lyrical but Jeezy makes better music

Juelz Santana and Jim Jones have come to 21 Savage’s defense after the young Atlanta rapper came under fire for questioning legendary Nas’ relevancy in today’s rap game when live on Clubhouse.

In a recent sit-down with No Jumper, the Diplomats duo brought some perspective to the ongoing debate and argued 21’s controversial comments, which were made on Clubhouse earlier this month, were misconstrued.

“You can’t even have no opinions out here nowadays. And they’re so quick to misconstrue everything you say. I don’t believe he was trying to say it in a malicious way. I’m just looking at what 21 Savage was saying. I don’t think he meant it as what people were taking it as. In today’s society, in the younger generation, these kids are very lit out here and they put ‘lit’ and ‘relevant’ in the same thing when it’s two different things.” said Jones.

“They feel like because 21 ain’t Nas, he don’t got a right to talk about Nas and that’s the f—ed up thing in the world we live in. We all have a right to our opinion because we all do it every day from the comments we make.” Santana added.

At one point of the interview, the crew also talked about Eminem while discussing 21 Savage’s opinion.

“Now go to the question of the best rapper. When you get into that, that’s a lot of technical, especially now in this day, because you got all the South dudes who may not be lyrical but… Alright, yes, Eminem is lyrically great but I get into the car and I listen to Jeezy more.” said Juelz Santana.

“18 year olds that were listening to Eminem ain’t 18 years olds listening listening to Eminem this year. This 18 years olds listening to somebody else that is dope as Eminem. They listen Drake, they listen 21 Savage, they listen to Lil Baby. These are the people who are gonna be considered the greatest rapper ever because these people tell us their story.” Jim Jones added.

Jeezy takes shots at 50 Cent in a new song “Therapy For My Soul”

Before Jeezy drops The Recession 2 album, the Atlanta rapper dropped the “Back” follow-up single “Therapy For My Soul”. In the song, Jeezy appears to take shots at 50 Cent with the following lines:

“Since we talking boss talk, let’s address the sucka s**t,
Grown man playing on Instagram, real sucka s**t
Why the f**k this clown ni**a playing with my legacy?
Solid in these streets, that’s some s**t that you will never be
Talking ’bout power, but weak ni**as do the most
In real life, ni**a you really borrow money from Ghost
All that lil’ boy s**t, yeah it make it evident
Made millions in these streets, what the f**k is 50 Cent?
And it’s still Free Meech, love him if he right or wrong
But the streets wanna know, do we really get along
If you askin’ me, ni**a, that’s one thousand percent.”

Archive Song: Jeezy & Freddie Gibbs – “Talk To Me” ft. Eminem

When Southpawer listed his favorite Eminem hooks, it turned out many fans did not know Jeezy and Eminem once collaborated on a track, which also featured Freddie Gibbs.

Back In 2011, the song titled “Talk To Me” by Young Jeezy, featuring Freddie Gibbs and Eminem and produced by Drumma Boy, was leaked and since then the song has never been released officially. Even though Eminem does not have a verse, the Rap Gad made sure to unleash one of the hardest hooks he has ever made.

The song has a little background story. During an interview with Hot 97, in 2014, Jeezy said that Freddie Gibbs ruined the relationship with Eminem and eventually the song got leaked:

I messed up a lot of relationships because of Gibbs, even with Eminem, just by me putting Gibbs on the record that was for me and, trying to convince Eminem to do the record, and the record leaking in the process. That burned a great bridge for me. Eminem is my dude.

The next day, during an interview with Hot 97, Freddie Gibbs addressed Jeezy’s comments. Gibbs revealed that he is unsure of how he could have ruined the relationship between Eminem and Jeezy:

“Jeezy talked about Eminem song and I want to clear that up. How did I mar your relationship with Eminem? I did not do anything of the sort. I was not involved in that whole process. He brought a song to me and asked me to get on it and I got on it. I was just doing what my superior at that time was telling me to do. I actually, honestly was against it. I did not want to get on the Eminem song because that was not the approach that I wanted to take. For one, I did not like the song. I’mma keep it real with you. Let’s just be real. I did not like song. So, I did not want to get on it. I told him I did not want to be on it. It was not my thing. I am not really comfortable with being on records with cats really if we do not  talk. So, I kinda wanted to establish that first before cause to me it kinda looked like I was thirsty.”
