Eminem drops new single “Houdini” with music video

Eminem attempts to make his career disappear with new single titled “Houdini,” produced by himself and Luis Resto. It serves as the lead single to Eminem’s twelfth studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). The track is named after Harry Houdini, a popular magician known for his death-defying stunts like the Chinese Water Torture Cell, which Eminem replicates in the intro to his 1999 track, “Role Model.”

“Little baby devil with the forked tongue and it’s stickin’ out,” raps Eminem in the opening verse, before he adds, “Still a white jerk pullin’ up in a Chrysler to the cypher with the Vics, Percs and a Bud Light shirt.” At the end of the first verse, Eminem references Megan Thee Stallion’s shooting incident with Tory Lanez  with a clever wordplay: “If I was to ask for Megan Thee (What?)/ Stallion if she would collab with me / Would I really have a shot at a feat? (Haha) I don’t know, but I’m glad to be back like Abra-abracadabra…”

In the third verse, Eminem claims that there are still many kids who want to act like him while namedropping R. Kelly and Black Eyed Peace: “In the coupe, leaning back my seat (What?)
Bumpin’ R. Kelly’s favorite group (Uh), the black guy (Guy) pees (Pees, haha) / In my Air Max 90s / White Ts, walkin’ parental advisory / My transgender cat’s Siamese (Why?) / Identifies as black, but acts Chinese.”

At the end of the verse, Eminem says a big f–k you to everybody, including Paul Rosenberg, Dr. Dre and his own kids: “Go ahead, Paul, quit, snake-a-s prick, You male cross dresser (Haha), fake-a-s b-tch / And I’ll probably get s-t for that (Watch) / But you can all suck my d–k, in fact / F–k them, f–k Dre, f–k Jimmy, f–k me, f–k you / F–k my own kids, they’re brats (F–k ’em) / They can screw off (Yeah), them and you all (Uh) / You too, Paul, got two balls / Big as RuPaul’s (Woah).”

The music video features cameos from Paul Rosenberg, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, GRIP, Westside Boogie, EZ Mil, Alchemist, Denaun Porter, Royce 5’9″, Pete Davidson, Jimmy Iovine, three of his daughters and others and it references to his iconic “Without Me” music video. Conor McGregor shows support to new Eminem music

Eminem is preparing new music for this Friday and the UFC legend Conor McGregor is the latest celebrity to show support to Detroit icon.

A little less than a month after announcing his 12th solo studio album titled “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” the follow-up for his 2020 album “Music To Be Murdered By,” Eminem has revealed that its first single “Houdini” will arrive tomorrow, Friday. Even though some fans think it’s an album not a single, that seems not to be a case.

Couple of days ago, in a post on social media with caption “Please do not try this at home. Or anywhere else,” Marshall FaceTimed with magician David Blaine and asked him for “help with something.” “I was wondering, how far can we go with this magic? Like, can we do like a stunt or something?” Em asked Blaine, who drinks a glass of wine and then proceeds to bite off the rim of it. “Well for my last trick, I’m going to make my career disappear,” says Eminem, while clicking off of the conversation.

Conor McGregor showed support to Eminem by sharing the clip on his Instagram story. Check out the screenshot below:

Little is known about Eminem‘s upcoming album, which he previously said would release this summer. “Houdini” would be the first offering, and a short clip of the instrumental seemingly plays at the end of the clip that were shared on all of his social media platforms.

While Em has kept details under wraps for “The Death of Slim Shady,” his longtime collaborator and mentor Dr. Dre let a few details slip earlier this year. In March, the hip-hop icon from Compton went on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” where he revealed that Eminem was working on a new album. He also shared that he contributed to several songs on the project, and was planning to hear the album for the first time the day after his TV appearance.

In April, Em announced “The Death of Slim Shady” with a Detroit Murder Files crime show teaser that aired during the Detroit NFL Draft 2024. Earlier this month, he placed a fake obituary in the Detroit Free Press to say goodbye to Slim Shady, who has long been his alter ego. A week later, Marshall shared a cryptic tweet that included a photo of a text message with the vanishing effect revealing the words, “…and for my last trick!” The date on the message was May 31, 2024 at 12 a.m. As it turn out and as we expected, it’s a release date for a new single “Houdini.” Check Eminem’s post below:

Eminem shares cover art & pre-save link for “Houdini”

Guess who’s back? Shady’s back, back again (but probably for the last time). Eminem is on an album mode and his 12th solo studio album titled The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) is slated to arrive this summer with the first single “Houdini” dropping this Friday.

The Detroit icon has cryptically dropped easter eggs and hints about the project while many details in regards to possible features and a concrete release date have remained under wraps. Eminem officially announced the project following his appearance at the Detroit NFL Draft in April 2024 in support of his hometown Detroit Lions. The album announcement came in the form of an Unsolved Mysteries episode featuring Em meeting his demise in search of “who killed Slim Shady?”

The Death Of Slim Shady will serve as Marshall’s 12th solo studio album, and first since 2020’s Music to Be Murdered By, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 to give Eminem his historic 10th consecutive leader.

Earlier today, Eminem shared a post on social media with caption “Please do not try this at home. Or anywhere else,” in which the Detroit legend FaceTimes with magician David Blaine and asks him for “help with something.” “I was wondering, how far can we go with this magic? Like, can we do like a stunt or something?” Em asks Blaine, who drinks a glass of wine and then proceeds to bite off the rim of it. “Well for my last trick, I’m going to make my career disappear,” says Eminem, while clicking off of the conversation. “Houdini” would be the first offering, and a short clip of the instrumental seemingly plays at the end of the clip.

Now, Eminem has just shared the cover art and pre-save link for the single. On the cover, a magician is holding a microphone without touching it, with devilish creatures flying around it. The magician is also wearing a hot with ace card and backwards E printed over it and a Jason mask which is a symbol of Slim Shady. “Guess who’s back? And for my last trick…” is writer over the cover. Eminem announces new single “Houdini”

A little less than a month after announcing his 12th solo studio album titled “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” Eminem has revealed that its first single “Houdini” will arrive in 2 days, this Friday.

In a new post on social media with caption “Please do not try this at home. Joe Budden talks if he would ever reconcile with Eminem

During a recent episode of Joe Budden Podcast the crew talked about the video CNN obtained of P. Diddy assaulting Cassie as well as his subsequent apology. Melyssa then calls Psychology Professor & Family Therapist Mercedes Coffman to discuss domestic violence and the aftermath as it pertains to both the abuser and victims. Also, the room reacts to Cam’ron’s appearance on CNN, Terrance Howard joins the Joe Rogan Podcast, Apple Music has continued on with their Top-100 Albums of All-Time list and much more!

At one point of the podcast, Joe Budden was asked if he would ever reconcile with Eminem and cleared the air about the past beef: “I don’t have the Eminem beef. I don’t think I have an Eminem beef. Now, he may have one. I don’t try to match the anger that people have with me. I don’t have no smoke. But I also am not in a rush to…there is no need, you cool over there, I’m cool over here. If there ever come a day we sit down and chop it up then awesome. I’m not opposed to it. But, am I in search of that? No.”

last month, Eminem’s upcoming album was discussed on Joe Budden Podcast: “I saw a lot of negative reactions too but Eminem announced that he’s dropping The Death Of Slim Shady album. Personally I’m excited. I see some people say he does not rap about anything or he just raps about how good he raps. A lot of people don’t like the fast rapping flow and etc. I say to those people ‘I don’t think you listen to his last project, Music To Be Murdered By. It’s an amazing album. That was my number two album of 2020.” said Officially Ice.

From there, Joe Budden interfered: “Did I get dissed on there?” But he was quickly reminded that he was dissed on 2018’s Kamikaze album. On that he replied: “Alright, I’ll check that out then.”

Then Ice continues: “He went back and did the deluxe thing and added second album to it. I didn’t really rock with second but the original Music To Be Murdered By was a great project, a lot of concepts. It (new trailer) was rolled out as true crime investigation doc type of thing, so if this is what you are doing and you are announcing this as the death of Slim Shady, I’m expecting something conceptual on here and when he get on that bag, he’s really not to be f–ked with.”

Ebro explains why Apple Music ranked SZA album higher than Eminem

About a week ago, Apple Music announced their 100 greatest albums of all time with Lauryn Hill’s 1998 iconic “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” claiming the top spot. Hill’s debut album outpaced other classic records from Beyoncé, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Eminem, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Prince, Stevie Wonder, Kendrick Lamar, Amy Winehouse, Frank Ocean and Nirvana.

The process started several months ago when Apple Music’s editorial team of editors and music experts – including Zane Lowe (global creative director and lead anchor for Apple Music 1) and Ebro Darden (global editorial head of hip-hop and R&B) – generated a list of candidates from the past 65 years. Members from Apple Music’s internal team submitted their personal lists of albums through the company’s voting microsite. The votes were weighted according to an album’s placement – the higher the ranking, the more votes assigned. Apple Music used the same voting methodology for a select group external voters that included artists, songwriters, producers and some media.

During one of the recent episodes of Rap Life Show on Apple Music, Ebro Darden read some comment reactions from fans. One of the users said: “SZA higher than Eminem and Missy Elliott is wild to me as well.” On which, Ebro replied: “SZA’s album is about to break Michael Jackson’s long-standing record for an RnB album being in the Billboard Top 200 for consecutive months I think, or weeks, it’s about to be. I Love Supa Dupa Fly Missy Elliott and I love Missy Elliott. It didn’t do that at that time.”

Then he continued: “And Eminem as big as Eminem has been with his singles, I don’t know if his albums did those numbers. That kind of longevity. And there is recent history bias in this list because you have such an young panel of people voting inside Apple Music. I think this won’t be the last time we do this. This was not based on sales and streaming.”

One of Eminem’s fans, @SonaShady8 replied: “Ebro is trying to tell us why SZA is higher than Eminem and Missy Elliott, because she was about to break Michael Jackson’s records then he says: oh this list isn’t based on streams or sales… Seriously? Are you okay, guys!” Check the video below.

Eminem & Jack White might be teaming up for “The Death Of Slim Shady” album

Eminem is preparing to release his 12th solo studio studio album, titled The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), sometime this summer. So far, the Detroit legend has yet to release any singles from the forthcoming project nor confirm a solid release date or tracklist. Now, Stans are curious what fellow Detroit native Jack White has to do with it.

The album rollout has already started, though, which is surprising from Em cause he has been dropping surprise albums since 2017. Not only did he take out a fake obituary for Slim Shady—his longtime alter-ego—in the Detroit Free Press, but he also dropped a trailer for the album with the cameo from 50 Cent during Detroit NFL Draft 2024.

Yesterday (May 26, 2024), the White Stripes lead singer and guitarist shared a random post consisting of three photos of Eminem from his 2014 Shady CXVPHER, rocking a PRhyme hoodie. He didn’t include any caption, leaving people guessing as to what the post could actually be about. Speculation ran wild in the comment section with comments like, “If there’s a collab here, the entire planet will faint all at once” and “What if Jack is on Eminem’s new album that’s coming out soon.”

The notion isn’t too far fetched. Eminem has previously collaborated with artists who might seem a bit outside the box for him, including Ed Sheeran and Rihanna. White, meanwhile, is known to be a big Hip-Hop fan and most recently collaborated with A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip on his latest album, 2022’s Entering Heaven Alive.

Despite minimal detail on the album, Eminem did tease a possible release date recently. On Monday (May 20, 2024), Marshall shared a cryptic tweet that included a photo of a text message with the vanishing effect revealing the words, “…and for my last trick!” The date on the message was May 31, 2024 at 12 a.m.

Considering that’s a Friday, it’s not hard to conclude what he’s suggesting. After all, he did say the album was arriving this summer—not spring. Now, Stans are eagerly expecting the first single from the album to arrive that day.

This week is the Detroit Grand Prix too. Jack White and Eminem both might be performing at the show. Check out Jack’s post below:

Nasaan jokingly warns Eminem about releasing on the same day as him

Eminem appears to have ‘upset’ Big Proof‘s son NASAAN as they now have release dates on the same day. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the young Detroit rapper jokingly warned Detroit legend not dare releasing anything on the same day as him: “Eminem dropping the same day as me? I would not do that if I was you, UNLESSSS you wanna get out sold OG.”

He then urged fans to pre-save his upcoming project titled Error 404 which is dropping on May 31, 2024, the same date Eminem has teased a new release, which is likely to be the first single from his upcoming album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). NASAAN’s debut project, Error 404 is curated by Royce 5’9″ and is set to feature Royce himself, as well as Detroit rappers Icewear Vezzo and BabyTron.

NASAAN has recently released the first single from the project, titled “Goated” featuring Royce 5’9″. In the song’s accompanying video, NASAAN paid tribute to his late father by recreating a famous freestyle featuring Proof and Eminem from 1999 during an interview with MTV. You can watch it below:

Kxng Crooked thinks May 31 is the released date of new Eminem album

Eminem has been taking a very unique approach to the rollout for his much-anticipated upcoming 12th solo studio album. Last month, Marshall announced The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) with a true crime parody video just before the NFL Draft 2024, and then he had an obituary for Slim printed in the Detroit Free Press, all well as in Germany and Italy newspapers. It’s looking like The Death of Slim Shady will be Eminem’s most ambitious album in years, and based on the latest piece of material released, it won’t be long until fans get to hear what it sounds like.

Few days ago, Eminem posted a screenshot video of a text exchange on his social media accounts. The contact info at the top reads: “All contacts,” and the message that gets sent out reads: “And for my last trick!” This video furthers the notion that the upcoming album will be the end of the line for Slim Shady as a character. The biggest revelation, though, is the time in which the text message is sent. The message says Friday, May 31 at 12:00 AM, which means fans can expect something major to happen on this date. It’s not made clear what the “something” will be. Under the comment section on Instagram, Ez Mil and Nasaan both commented the magic wand emojis. Slim Shady also changed his profile pictures on social media to a ‘rabbit’, which is probably related to his 8 Mile character.

Yesterday, one of the fans on X (formerly Twitter) asked Kxng Crooked what is Eminem dropping on may 31st, an album, the tracklist or a single, on which Crooked replied with a Jimmy McGill GIF with the caption: “If he’s doing all of this for a single.. better call Paul.” Jimmy McGill is a character in “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” TV series. Crook cryptically references an iconic phrase “Better Call Saul” but replaced Saul with Paul, which probably refers to Paul Rosenberg. Check out the tweet below:

It will probably be a new single. Some fans took to the comment section to theorize that Em is dropping the entire album on May 31, but the video teaser announcing The Death of Slim Shady stated that it will drop in the summer. Seeing as summer doesn’t officially start until late June, it’s safe to state that Eminem will be sitting on the album for a bit longer. The Detroit legend first teased the idea of new music back in January. He told Shade 45 listeners that he was “working on a little something,” and also teased a potential collaboration with 50 Cent.

“I’m trying to get him to make a new album so bad. We need another 50 album, like, really bad. 50’s on a roll right now. He’s been on a roll since the tour. I told him whatever the f–k he needs from me, I’m here. Joint album? That s–t would be crazy, though, an album with me and him.” said Eminem.

Watch the trailer of “How Music Got Free,” produced by Eminem with 50 Cent cameo

A new docuseries titled HOW MUSIC GOT FREE will be released on June 11, 2024. The documentary details the amazing story of the technology-driven disruption that changed music during the late-90s and early-2000s. File sharing technology, combined with the unprecedented demand for new music, created both the means and the motive for millions of young people to participate in outright theft on the internet.

HOW MUSIC GOT FREE is executive produced by LeBron James and Eminem along with Slim Shady’s manager Paul Rosenberg, Maverick Carter and Steve Stoute, and is based on the popular book of the same name by author Stephen Witt. The documentary is produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television/Telepictures in association with SpringHill, Interscope Films and Shady Films. Narrated by Method Man, the series features interviews with Eminem, 50 Cent, Timbaland, Jimmy Iovine, Rocsi Diaz, Rhymefest, Steve Stoute and many more.

Dell Glover from Shelby, NC became the main leaker of music in the wild wild mp3 days who used to work a job at the Universal Music CD pressing plant. The series throws light on his story and how his actions changed the music industry forever.

In the trailer, Eminem says: “When Napster came about I didn’t understand the internet yet. I thought Yahoo was a person…Here is what you don’t understand if music should be free. I have entire army of people that need their paycheck.” You can watch the trailer below:

Eminem’s mother reacts to Eminem & Hailie dancing at her granddaughter’s wedding

A little more than a year after Eminem and Kim Scott’s daughter Hailie Jade revealed that she and Evan McClintock had gotten engaged, the two have tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Battle Creek, Michigan surrounded by family and friends, which included Dr. Dre, 50 Cent and Jimmy Iovine.

“Waking up a wife this week,” Hailie shared in a May 20, 2024 Instagram post featuring photos from the couple’s wedding day. “We couldn’t have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration.” And the 28-year-old, who wore a stunning white strapless gown with jaw-dropping floor-length veil, simply found herself lost in the moment during their nuptials.

She continued: “So so many happy tears were shed laughs and smiles were had and so much love was felt. Evan and I are feeling so grateful for all of the family and friends that traveled to support us and be a part of this new chapter of our lives as husband and wife.”

Under the posts’ comment, Bizarre of D12 commented: “Congrats” with heart emoji. Obie Trice also replied: “Congratulations Hailie,” and Skylar Grey said: “Congrats honey stunning.”

But that’s not all from the ceremony, according to TMZ, Hailie and Eminem enjoyed a father-daughter dance during the occasion, which was held at a lavish venue in Battle Creek, Michigan. Eminem’s mother, Debbie Nelson, who is registered on X (formerly Twitter) as @heartandsoul777, retweeted her friend Amanda Gardner’s post with the caption: “My son hasn’t slow danced. 🙂 Give him E for effort. Love you son And Hailey. Congrats.” Check out the tweet below:
