Eminem donates his “8 Mile” costume to Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ extensive collection, housed at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Margaret Herrick Library, and Academy Film Archive in Los Angeles, has received a donation of a costume worn by Eminem in his role as Jimmy, who went by the stage name “B-Rabbit,” in 2002 box office No.1 movie 8 Mile.

The lead single of the movie “Lose Yourself” became the first hip-hop song to win an Oscar for best original song in March, 2003. Together with Jeff Bass and Luis Resto, Eminem received the honor. In the months of 2002–2003, the blockbuster single dominated the US Billboard Hot 100 charts for 12 weeks in a row. It also won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Solo Performance.

“We are thrilled and honored to expand the Academy’s collection with these exceptional pieces. To be housed at our archive, library and museum, these vital components of the filmmaking process highlight the collaborative disciplines that develop and produce the movies we love. They also demonstrate the Academy’s unique capacity to preserve the full range of film history formats. We are incredibly grateful to our donors for their remarkable gifts to the Academy and for their commitment to illuminating our film history.” – said Academy CEO Bill Kramer in a statement.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has been collecting and preserving film and film-related material since 1927. Its permanent collection contains more than 13 million photographs, 8.3 million clippings, 95,000 screenplays, 73,500 posters, 145,000 production and costume design drawings, 45,000 sound recordings, 39,000 books, 1,900 special collections, 242,000 film and video assets, and 8,000 props, process, and production items.

Listen: Incredible Eminem AI songs compilation

Artificial Intelligence music generators are the biggest challenge for musicians in 2023. Nowadays, it’s absolutely possible to make an Eminem song without Eminem involved to it and it’s becoming headache for music creators day by day.

Artificial intelligence tools that generate text, images and music are moving art into new territory — and that’s raising tricky questions for the business of creativity.

For early adopters like Insider, the publication that this week announced an experiment with A.I.-aided articles, the new tools promise more efficient content creation. But for many artists, and the businesses that own their work, generative A.I. is a double threat. These systems can produce copycats of human works that dilute the market, and they use artists’ production, without their permission, as training data.

Some see that as stealing intellectual property: Universal Music Group recently told music streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, to block A.I. systems from scraping its music.

As an example of A.I. generated music, we use Eminem’s case. In the video below, you can check out The Slim Shady LP era, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 era, Relapse era and Music To Be Murdered By era Eminem created by artificial intelligence.

Eminem & Paul Rosenberg to make animated cameo in Juice WRLD & Cordae’s new “Role Model” sampled single

Cole Bennett and Lyrical Lemonade preparing their first ever compilations album LL1*. It is yet unknown when the album will be released but the first single “Doomsday” by Juice WRLD and Cordae will be dropped this Friday (June 23, 2023).

“Doomsday” by Juice WRLD and Cordae samples Eminem‘s iconic single “Role Model” produced by Dr. Dre and Mel-Man, from his 1999 classic album, The Slim Shady LP. According to the cover of the single, Eminem and Paul Rosenberg will make an animated cameo in the music video of the single.

Last year, Cole Bennett talked about the album during the interview with Our Generation Music: “You know, obviously like the Lyrical Lemonade album has always been in discussion for you know, since things really popped off. It was always like it would be really cool if there was a Lyrical Lemonade album, you know. That was just built out with a lot of like, you know, it’s a compilation album with a lot of the artists that we work with and just creating different vibes and bringing different worlds together, but I never wanted to do it, because… man, man I really hated labels really really bad for a long time. Just because it just rubbed me the wrong way. Now, I’m learning to just appreciate it more. I think I just matured, you know what I mean? Because I was so DIY, like anti-industry and I just never wanted to do it, the timing was wrong.” he said.

Then he continued: “But I think its because it was when all the labels wanted to do these joint ventures and have Lyrical Lemonade to be a sub label and I never wanted to do that. I didn’t know what I was doing and I never go into anything if I’m not fully knowledge on the situation. I’m not a numbers guy either. I don’t wanna be tied into contracts with anyone. I do this because I love it. This is my passion. So, to see people operate solely off just finances and things of that nature, not to get into it too much, I feel like I was getting pulled in by some s–t that I didn’t want. The album being mentioned right around that time, after all of these labels trying to do all these things, I was like all of that type of stuff I was iffy about it and I just knew that the time wasn’t right, you know? I’m big on timing with everything, if I feel even the tiniest gut feeling in the opposite direction, I follow it.”

“Recently, because now I’m ready to take things to the next level, I’m ready to start working on movies and start building Lyrical Lemonade into different worlds. I got some crazy ideas. My imagination, my drive is in a better spot than it’s ever been. This is a unturned stone, like this is something that had to be done. It’s a Lyrical Lemonade album and I know that now with my experience and a lot of the relationships I’ve built, I think I could really do something cool. Bring people together and just make different sounds that maybe wouldn’t get made otherwise and getting more involved with records and that executive producer role, in terms of helping, construct, and layer songs. It’s exciting for me. I want to be in the studio, bringing people together and just building records, so I think this would be really cool.” Cole Bennett added.

Few snippets of the song “Doomsday” by Juice WRLD and Cordae has already been leaked. You can check it out in the video below:

Mr. Porter reacts to new Eminem album rumors

Since Cole Bennett dropped some hints on new music, the speculations for new Eminem album have stormed the social media.

@stanistheone Instagram account shared a screenshot of supposedly Interscope’s now deleted tweet that said: “It’s official! The next Eminem album, his first in over 3 years, will be released on Friday. Executive produced by Dr. Dre, the album will debut on streaming services along with the new music video directed by Cole Bennett.”

In the caption the fan account wrote: “Reportedly @interscope tweeted this by accident on Twitter yet I don’t know anybody that actually saw said tweet. Notice how there isn’t a specific Friday that’s mentioned just the day itself. Keep in mind there is absolutely no physical proof to substantiate such a claim that an album is coming but remain alert nonetheless.”

In the comment section, Mr. Porter commented laughing emoji, meaning, the above information is bulls–t, unfortunately.

Eminem celebrates Father’s Day by promoting Snoop Dogg’s cereal

It’s been a long time since Eminem last shared anything on his social media accounts. It appears Father’s Day was a special day.

Father’s Day is a holiday honoring one’s father, or relevant father figure, as well as fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Eminem is a father of three.

Slim Shady celebrated the day by promoting Snoop Dogg’s cereal, a natural flavored fruity hoopz with marshmallows. He posted a picture of himself, eating the cereal alongside Snoop Dogg’s “Doggystyle” cassette tape with TikTok anthem “Mockingbird” playing over the picture. In the caption, Eminem wrote: “Happy Father’s Day… thanks 4 the breakfast @snoopdogg!!!”

Snoop responded by reposting the screenshot of Eminem’s Twitter post with the caption: “@Eminem
8mile Breakfast @snoopcereal @amazon @walmart

Cole Bennett teases new Eminem song next week

Cole Bennett is leveling up in the video production space. The Lyrical Lemonade frontman took to his social media accounts to drop the official Rick Rubin-narrated first-ever short film, titled whyrush?, which was released today on June 18, 2023.

At the end of the film, there is a very strange audio recording. It appears it is reversed audio of Eminem’s “Role Model” intro and fans were quick to figure that out.

In the YouTube’s comment section one of the users commented: “It says “Okay, I’m going to attempt to drown myself” at the end which is reference to Eminem – Role Model. I don’t know why they included this at the end.”

On which the official account of Lyrical Lemonade replied: “Watch what happens next,” with Shushing Face emoji.

The interaction was shared by Cole Bennett himself on his Instagram story with the caption: “See you all next week!”

THIS IS A BIG HINT. Eminem is probably dropping something next week so you better stay tuned on Southpawer! Check out the video below:

Kid Capri says Eminem is hated cause he does “black stuff” better

During a recent interview on Audacy’s Hip-Hop Made podcast with host Mike Street, Kid Capri talked about his favorite rappers and how the majority of people decide on their Top 5 hip-hop artists.

The New York City DJ and rapper discussed how he believes that Eminem is denigrated because he is white and that he raps better than those who hate on him.

“Everybody goes by the popularity of the person instead of the real skill set. Everybody keep going at Eminem because he’s white. You’re mad because he’s doing Black stuff better than you are. Like 50 said. That’s what it is. The boy is nice, you can’t take that from him. Wisely use his name in your mouth every time. That boy is nice. You can not f–k with him on stage at all. ” said Kid Capri.

50 Cent said something similar years ago to defend Slim Shady from haters: “Hip Hop is Black music, without question, and, unfortunately for some people, it’s tough to accept that you have a White artist that does it better than Black artists.”

This is not the first time Capri made statements in defense of Eminem. During an interview with HipHopDX last year, he explained how Lil Pump dissing Eminem inspired his latest album, The Love.

“That was just one of the things that did inspire,” Capri said at the time. “I got tired of seeing the younger dudes thinking that the older people ain’t capable. Like we ain’t been here building this business from the ground up from day one.

Then he continued: “Sometimes, it is the truth. A lot of older people, they get out of touch. They don’t want the younger people to come in and do their thing, and it be just back and forth exchange.

“But when I watch Lil Pump disrespect a dude that became the Elvis of Hip Hop, this dude that sold millions and millions of records, created opportunities for so many people and is one of the greatest MCs on the planet, for him to just disrespect him like that, we losing our respect level.” he added.

Ice Cube says he’d choose Eminem as his ally in a rap battle

Legendary Ice Cube took some time to touch on a variety of topics with The Guardian magazine.

While the interview covers things from his past, like his break from N.W.A., he also touched on a hypothetical situation. The interviewer asked: If you had to choose two rappers to join your team in a rap battle, who would they be and why?

On which Cube replied: “Eminem is one of the best rappers that’s ever blessed the mic, and I feel the same way about Lil Wayne – I would not mind going into battle with those two.”

This is not the first time Ice Cube showed love to Eminem. Couple of years ago, he listed the top 15 greatest emcees of all time and included Slim Shady into it.

“I go back to guys who set the bar.” said Cube. “One of my first greatest is Melle Mel, another great emcee, I believe who brought more style to rhymes is KRS-1, another guy is my favorite of all time who introduced consciousness on another level into rap it’s Chuck D. Another one is another trendsetter, one of the OGs who helped the west coast get on the map, that’s Ice-T.”

Then he continued: “Snoop is one of my favorite rappers of all time, so is Biggie, so is Jay Z, so is Nas. We got rappers like Ras Kass on the west coast that’s crazy, Eminem – one of the best to ever touch the mic. Lil Wayne goddamn, he’s nasty! Oh, and Black Thought, monster! I’m gonna say Slick Rick. I’m gonna leave the last one blank [Laughs]. There are so many great emcees to name.”

Jack Harlow talks about Eminem, responds Machine Gun Kelly diss

During a recent appearance on Rap Radar podcast with Elliott Wilson and Brian ‘B.Dot’ Miller, Jack Harlow briefly talked about Eminem and responded to Machine Gun Kelly’s ‘Drake flow’ diss after claiming himself as the best white rapper since Slim Shady.

“I used to order bunch of XXLs and I think I was just reading old interviews, y’all put Eminem on the cover every month. I was reading a lot of Eminem interviews and I remember I was reading this one section and there was a whole column that said ‘Eminem bad for hip-hop’ and y’all had some of the biggest rappers in the game answered. Jay-Z gave his answer. I read that and everyone answered like ‘F–K NO! EMINEM NOT BAD FOR HIP-HOP. HE’S DOPE AS S–T.’ And that’s what connected with me.” – said Jack Harlow

Then he continues: “At the end of the day, if you can rap, what else we talking about? We are not perfect. He made few mistakes in his career, sure, but it don’t f–king matter because he can rap his a– off so I said, I just had a moment I was like ‘just rap bro, there is so many things you could try to be everything’ but at the end of the day on this one I just wanted to rap.”

Later in the interview, Harlow responded to Machine Gun Kelly’s “Renegade” freestyle diss: “Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, and I feel great about what I said, and I feel great about the reaction. It just is what it is. I’m an MC! I’m talking my s–t. This ain’t new concept to feel yourself. I fell no reservations about what was said at all.

Earlier this month MGK dissed the Kentucky native in a freestyle over Jay-Z’s Eminem-produced 2001 hit, “Renegade.” In the freestyle, he rapped: “I see why they call you Jackman, you jacked man’s whole swag / Give Drake his flow back, man, I eat rappers like Pac-Man.”
