Barry Sanders reacts to Eminem’s commentary about him, Eminem responds

Detroit legend Eminem has recently appeared in the latest Amazon Prime Video’s documentary, titled “Bye Bye Barry” about former American football player Barry Sanders, a running back who played for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League for 10 seasons.

Sanders led the league in rushing yards four times and in rushing touchdowns once, establishing himself as one of the most elusive runners in the history of the NFL with his quickness and agility, despite being only 5 ft 8 in tall and weighing 203 lbs.

Barry shared one of the Eminem segments from the documentary on X, in which, Em says: “I’ve seen every documentary on Barry Sanders that there is to see and I never walked away feeling like I knew why he walked away. Still to this day, everybody talks about he is the greatest running back that ever played the game and I know that he walked away at a time when he could have broken every single record there ever was and ever will be.”

In the caption, Barry wrote: There is really no way to describe hearing @Eminem say he was fan. Scoring major points with the kids on this one.”

Eminem responded with an Eyes Open Wide emoji.

50 Cent brings out Ed Sheeran at his Final Lap Tour in London

Tuesday night (November 21) at 50 Cent ‘s “Final Lap” event at London’s O2 Arena, fans were treated to a very special surprise guest. During his performance a giant box on stage flashed the message “there’s a monster in this box,” as the familiar strains of Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape of You” filled the arena and Fif said “turn it up even more!”

Ed then popped out from under the box — without his signature acoustic guitar — and began singing his 2017 smash while dapping up 50 who added some ad libs and joined the clearly excited Sheeran on the chorus. Sheeran chronicled the special moment on his Instagram Story, writing, “50 Cent has invited me to the O2 to sing ‘Shape of You,’” along with footage of himself walking around beforehand backstage singing to 50’s “21 Questions.”

Though they were in all-white on stage, 50 posted some backstage images of the men in all black yukking it up with the message, “My man came through for me tonight, BOOM, LONDON went crazy! It don’t get bigger than this.”

Sheeran also previewed his walk-out in an Instagram Live video shared by 50, in which the singer tells the camera, “50 Cent has invited me to the O2 to sing ‘Shape of You,’ and I’m going to walk on stage and go, ‘Who likes ‘In Da Club?… Here’s ‘Shape of You.’” Ed then sings a bit of 50’s “21 Questions” before a stagehand loads him into the lift that positions him inside the box as he yells “In Da Club!”

Afterwards, a hyped Sheeran can’t stop yelling “In Da Club!” as he leaves the stage and retreats to a sky box to watch the show and rap along to “Many Men” and, of course “In Da Club.”

Watch Eminem segment in “Bye Bye Barry” documentary

Detroit legend Eminem appears in the latest Amazon Prime Video’s documentary “Bye Bye Barry” about former American football player Barry Sanders, a running back who played for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League for 10 seasons.

Sanders led the league in rushing yards four times and in rushing touchdowns once, establishing himself as one of the most elusive runners in the history of the NFL with his quickness and agility, despite being only 5 ft 8 in tall and weighing 203 lbs.

In 1997, Barry Sanders rushed for 2,053 yards in the regular season and was awarded the NFL Most Valuable Player Award (MVP), alongside his second NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award. While still performing at a high level, Sanders unexpectedly retired from professional football in 1999, at the age of 31, and 1,457 yards short of breaking the NFL’s then all-time rushing record held by Walter Payton. He cited the Lions’ front office and declining team production as reasons for his retirement.

In one of the segment of the documentary, Eminem says: “I’ve seen every documentary on Barry Sanders that there is to see and I never walked away feeling like I knew why he walked away. Still to this day, everybody talks about he is the greatest running back that ever played the game and I know that he walked away at a time when he could have broken every single record there ever was and ever will be. So, why did he walk away?!” while his “Cinderella Man,” song from Recovery (2010) album playing in the background.

Then continued: “It just made him so much more likable that fact that he was that good, I’ve never seen somebody be that good in something and be so humble.”

Eminem reacts to Detroit Lion’s comeback win over Chicago Bears

With the Detroit Lions’ thrilling come-from-behind victory over the Chicago Bears, they have now moved to 8-2 on the season. As it currently stands, it is the second-best record in the NFL, only behind the 8-1 Philadelphia Eagles.

This is also a stunning landmark for the Lions franchise. The last time they were 8-2 was in 1962, four seasons before the very first Super Bowl. That’s 61 years since the Lions have started out with such an impressive record through 10 games. Combined with the team’s 8-2 finish to last season, the Lions have now won a remarkable 16 of their last 20 games.

If you’re wondering what happened back in 1962 when the Lions started 8-2, the Lions finished with an 11-3 record—behind the Green Bay Packers’ 13-1 season (the one loss coming to Detroit in the finale—AKA the Thanksgiving Day Massacre.) The Lions would end up winning the third-place game, beating the Steelers 17-10 for a 12-3 finish to the season.

This year, the sky is the limit for the Lions. While that was not anywhere near a good game against the Bears, it shows the tenacity of this team and their ability to make big plays in big moments. They will look to move to 9-2 in just a few days against the Green Bay Packers, who are coming off a fourth-quarter comeback win of their own.

It’s seems Detroit legend Eminem was also impressed with the win. “I can’t f–king believe it!!!!!! Incredible!!!!!! @Lions thank you for the heart attack!!! Let’s f–king goooooooooooo!!!!” wrote Eminem on X. Check the post below:

Ez Mil freestyles over Lil Durk & J Cole’s “All My Life” & talks meeting Eminem

Shady Records newest artist, Ez Mil, has recently visited Pete Rosenberg’s Real Late on Hot 97 and covers Lil Durk and J Cole’s “All My Life.” He also did an interview with Rosenberg where he talked about talked about meeting Eminem, coming up in the Philippines and much more.

During an interview, Peter Rosenberg said that Ez Mil signing to Shady was entire Eminem’s idea: “I saw Paul recently at the Westside Gunn album event and told him I was gonna see you. Shouts out to Griselda. I said ‘I’m gonna see Ez Mil next week so what’s the deal? Is he through you or Marshall?’ And he was like ‘Nah, he came from Marshall, this is Marshall’s thing.”

Then Ez Mil continued talked about his first interaction with Eminem: “We was at Dre’s studio…It was just a regular day and my girl just went to work and I was working on some beats and what happened was, my girl overlooked an email from Paul Rosenberg. And it was like ‘nah, this is not Paul.’ She thought it was cap. Email said ‘yo, can we get a contact to Ez Mil?’ The message was so casual, she didn’t expect this cause usually it would be like big one, looking formal. She then got call and when she got home she told me and I was like ‘CAP! BULLS–T!’ When I realized it was serious, I freaked the f–k out. The dude I copy contacted me!”

“Now we are in Dre’s studio and yet to meet Eminem. So that’s what happened, there is a lobby and I come through there. Dre was sitting right there. There was a door leading to the studio. Dre stood up and he was like ‘hey superstar.’ As I walked in the studio, Em was right there, sitting on the couch. And when I walked in, he was like ‘EZEKIEL! Where have you been in the last 20 years?!’ I just wanted to ask him one question the whole time ‘Why have not you never been in Philippines?!'”

“When we was in the studio he was telling me, he kinda found us through ‘Up Down’ music video and in three days after he found that video, that’s when he told his people to reach out. And in two months I got signed. Eminem’s an OG! His influence to music in general, not even just in rap, I find great inspiration in people who can still do what they are able to do and still being with family.” – he added.

Then Ez hopped on the rooftop to perform his version of “All My Life.” You can watch the performance below:

O’Shea Jackson Jr. says Eminem has most iconic opening line in history

Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr., best known for portraying his father in his feature film debut, Straight Outta Compton, has recently gave a shout out to Eminem on X.

Straight Outta Compton is a 2015 American biographical drama film directed by F. Gary Gray, depicting the rise and fall of the hip hop group N.W.A and its members Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, MC Ren, and DJ Yella.

One of the fans on Elon Mask’s social media asked what is the most iconic first line of a rap song, on which, California-born rapper and actor replied: ““Y’all act like you never seen a white person before.” – @Eminem.”

O’Shea Jackson Jr., also known by the stage name OMG, is referring to the opening line of Eminem’s 2000 hit song “The Real Slim Shady,” from The Marshall Mathers LP album: “Y’all act like you never seen a white person before / Jaws all on the floor like Pam, like Tommy just burst in the door…”

One user responded: “And your daddy is Ice…never mind.” On that, O’Shea commented: “That Eminem line is hilarious to me. It’s ok. Also everyone expects me to pick my dad with every rap question. So sometimes I like to switch it up to give my life variety.”

This is not the first time O’Shea Jackson Jr. is showing love to Eminem. Below is the timeline of him expressing admiration to Slim Shady over the years.

Danny Brown says it’s hard to work with Eminem

Danny Brown has just released new album, titled Quaranta. It marks his sixth and final album released on Warp Records, with future releases being handled through his own label Bruiser Brigade Records.

To promote the album, The Detroit rapper sat down with Vulture magazine for an exclusive interview where he briefly talked about Eminem.

Interviewer: I have been thinking a lot about “Detroit vs. Everybody,” which features you and Eminem. Is there a relationship there? I feel like we should have had a long history of collaborations.

Danny Brown: I would love that. I only met him one time. It is kind of hard to work with him, I feel. He has got his small circle, and that is all he f–ks with. You can not blame him.

For the full interview, visit Vulture here.

Few months ago, Danny Brown talked about Eminem and how Slim Shady influenced his style on his Danny Brown Show with Logic. I think Eminem is having a blast. That’s really what I think. Of course he can quit tomorrow and his legacy is still stamped. But he’s still out here like ‘f–k that, coffee pot.’ He’s still out here like ‘I’mma do what I wanna do, I don’t give a f–k.” I’m pretty sure he knows motherf–kers joking on him and this and that but it’s a fact that he don’t give a f–k. He still keep going. He’s still busting bars. I appreciate that more than anything. People look at this s–t like a young man game and this and that but nah man, let him rock. What if he was caught in the moment of like ‘I gotta make s–t that you all motherf–kers to like.’ I think he’s making s–t that he enjoys. And I feel like he probably was doing that s–t at one point of time in his career where he was like ‘I gotta make a hit song, I gotta do this and that.’ It’s Em. He got a legion of f–king followers. I actually had a pleasure to open for him few times. My biggest show I ever played. F–king Wembley Stadium with Eminem and it was f–king amazing. I can’t never say nothing bad about Eminem. And I got a lot of my style from him. To be honest.” Danny said.

Francis Lawrence talks Eminem & Coryo comparisons in the new Hunger Games movie

The latest instalment in The Hunger Games movie franchise is arriving on November 17, 2023.

The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes sees Tom Blyth and Rachel Zegler step into the lead roles of a young Coriolanus Snow and his mentee, District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird.

The latest release of The Hunger Games – which also stars Viola Davis, Josh Andrés Rivera, Jason Schwartzman, Peter Dinklage and Hunter Schafer – is set 64 years before the events of the first movie, and serves as a prequel to the hugely popular original trilogy, released from 2012-2015.

When the movie was released the trailer, fans could not help not to compare Eminem’s Slim Shady look to Tom Blyth’s Coriolanus “Coryo” Snow.

Huffpost has recently caught up with producer Nina Jacobson and director Francis Lawrence to find out more about The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes, and what exactly went into the making of the movie. At one point of the interview, they also talked about the unexpected comparison of Eminem and Coryo.

And how hard was it to frame Coryo as the “hero” of the story given that he’s not really a good person?

FL: I think that was the biggest challenge. One of the things I was really excited about was being able to tell a very different kind of story than the first films; a young man’s descent into darkness. But the issue was taking a character that everybody knows is a villain, and everybody sort of loves to hate, and having the audience root for him and empathize with him. What I would say was the next tricky bit was to make sure that while we’re getting people to root for him, we’re seeding in greed, ambition, and the possible darkness that could be in him.

Erm, so, we couldn’t help but see Eminem in Coryo’s look during the period when he’s becoming a Peacekeeper. Is that something you noticed, too?

FL: No. You know what, I never saw the Eminem thing. Obviously, both Josh and Tom had to shave their heads to get into Peacekeeper mode. When I saw Tom for the first time with his bleached hair and his shaved head, I thought he looked kind of like punk rock, and I loved that kind of edge to it. It wasn’t until the first image was released of him and Rachel lying by the lake that people started saying, “why does he look like Eminem?” Then I went, “oh, I guess he sort of does look like Eminem a bit”. But that was not the intention!

LL Cool J thanks Eminem for “Mom’s Spaghetti” sauce present
