At the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, host Snoop Dogg took a moment during the “VMA Memory Lane” segment to reflect on his iconic performance alongside Eminem at the 2022 ceremony. He highlighted the deep professional and personal history the two rap legends share, as well as the instrumental role MTV played in shaping their historic careers over the decades.

Speaking on Eminem’s massive impact and the importance of the platform, he said, “Eminem is one of the greatest to ever do it. You got MTV who basically helped bring in a lot of his fanbase by playing his videos and letting the world know who he is. His videos were always top of the line and MTV was a place that you could see them.”

Reflecting on what it meant for both hip-hop icons to share the spotlight together that night, he added, “So for me and him to grace the stage on a night like that was special. Because it’s just years of hard work and years of me being a fan of him, loving what he do, him being a fan and me loving what we do.”

He emphasized their shared roots under Dr. Dre and the unity that defined their collaborative moment on stage, stating, “We both being with Dr. Dre and knowing that, as a family, it’s better when we together. This was all about standing together, making a move and MTV, c’mon man, who says no to that?”
