Davis Riley Plans to Blast Eminem Before Final Round

Detroit has always been a city known for comebacks — and this week, PGA Tour golfer Davis Riley is hoping to write his own.

The 29-year-old is having a breakout week at the Rocket Classic, and he revealed that one of Detroit’s biggest cultural icons, Eminem, could help him get ready for the biggest round of his tournament.

After taking the lead at Detroit Golf Club with a 7-under 63 on Saturday, Riley was asked about the city’s connection to the legendary rapper.

“I love some Eminem,” Riley said. “I do love some Eminem. I may have to blare some Eminem on the way over to the course to kind of get the mojo going. Lose Yourself is a good one.”

Riley’s Eminem-powered motivation comes as he looks to finish off a remarkable turnaround season. The two-time PGA Tour winner entered the week searching for momentum, but now finds himself one round away from another career victory.

His Saturday performance included a stunning 50-plus-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole, followed by another birdie on the 18th to secure a spot in Sunday’s final pairing. Both holes have played among the most challenging at Detroit Golf Club throughout the tournament.

Riley holds a one-shot lead over Michael Brennan, with Rickie Fowler and other contenders three shots behind heading into the final round.

Whether it’s his golf game or a little Eminem playing through the speakers on the way to the course, Riley is embracing Detroit’s energy as he goes after another PGA Tour win.
