Fearne Cotton recalls hosting Eminem for BBC Radio 1 performance Posted on March 18, 2026 By Remy Gelenidze In a recent interview on Great Company with Jamie Laing, English broadcaster and author Fearne Cotton—best known for her long-running tenure on BBC Radio 1—reflected on one of the standout moments from her career, recalling the time she hosted Eminem for a live performance.“Radio 1 gave me so many brilliant chances to see the world’s greatest musicians this close playing live. I’ve had some of the greatest moments of my life. One that stands out which I’ll never forget is, Eminem stood as far as you are away from me now, rapping in my face. And I just stood there going, ‘how is this happening?! This should not be happening. I’m just a girl from suburbs. What’s going on?!'” Fearne Cotton said. The she continued: “And you see the level of exceptions with someone of his caliber. I have never seen anything so slick in my life. In the rehearsal, he was swearing and cussing and we were like ‘oh my god, I have to interrupt him mid live performance and stop it’. And as soon as he went live, he self-edited like I’ve never seen. He was full of charisma, full of energy. He was, he’s just it! It’s the moments like that that I just feel so lucky to have experienced.”You can watch the interview below: Fearne Cotton famously interviewed and hosted Eminem for a special BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance at Maida Vale studios in June 2010 where Slim Shady performed “Not Afraid”, “Stan” and “Forever.” RECENT RELATED ARTICLESDJ Mormile Reveals How Drake’s “Forever” With Eminem Actually HappenedApril 6, 2026Papoose Talks Name-Dropping Eminem in 50 Cent Diss SongApril 5, 2026Dr. Dre – “Bye Bye” (Original Version of Eminem’s “Lucifer”)April 5, 2026Most Streamed Rappers of March, 2026 on SpotifyApril 3, 2026Most Streamed Rappers on YouTube Music in March, 2026April 3, 2026Benny Blanco Talks How Rihanna’s “Diamonds” Almost Went to Eminem and Kanye WestApril 2, 2026 BBCEminemFearne Cotton
