Sean O’Malley is feeling the love from Eminem and Lil Wayne and hopes the vibes carry on into his future fights.
The former UFC bantamweight champion saw his name-dropped in not one, but two recent tracks from the hip-hop legends, with Lil Wayne mentioning O’Malley on the song “Rari” from his album Tha Carter VI, which came out this past June. “Shirt off, guns showin’ like O’Malley,” Wayne rapped.
Then Eminem also referenced O’Malley this past week in a collaboration with rapper JID on the song “Animals (Pt. 1),” rapping, “had to throw in that towel, regroup, like Sean O’Malley, still that mouthy youth.”
O’Malley shared his reaction to hearing his name in the songs on social media. He was visibly excited at hearing his name, then recalled how he walked out for his first kickboxing match to the song “Drop the World,” a 2009 collaboration between Wayne and Slim Shady. “Random,” O’Malley said. “It’s a sign. It’s a sign I’m going to beat Merab.”
O’Malley then looked directly at the camera, suggesting that he might not be taking the premonition entirely seriously. He is currently 0-2 against Merab Dvalishvili, the current UFC bantamweight champion… Watch his reaction video below.
