LL Cool J & Eminem – Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame (Rehearsal)

For his highly anticipated Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, legendary hip-hop artist LL Cool J amped up the energy in Cleveland considerably, thanks to a career-spanning set which featured another icon from Detroit, Eminem.

LL started off his set with a banger, going into 1987’s “Go Cut Creator Go,” from “Bigger And Deffer” album.

After a bit of 1988’s “Going Back to Cali,” surprise guest Slim Shady nonchalantly walked onstage to perform “Rock the Bells” with his idol. LL and Eminem performed like they were in a rap battle, trading lyrics on the song with no-holds-barred ferocity.

Before we upload the official Hall Of Fame performance, you can watch the rehearsal video below, featuring Eminem and Dr. Dre:

“Rock The Bells” radio teases Eminem, Dr. Dre and LL Cool J collaboration!

“Rock The Bells” is a radio channel founded by recent Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee, LL Cool J.

Their official website shared an article with the caption: “Is A LL COOL J, Eminem and Dr. Dre Collaboration Coming?”

In the article we read the history of these three collaborating through the years.

Eminem has never done a song with LL but back in 2014, the legendary rapper announced that the song with Slim Shady was coming but it has never been released.

Under the article’s post, one of the fans commented: “You should know,” on which the publication replied with two emojis: “eyes” and “laughing.”

LL Cool J brings out Eminem to perform “Rock The Bells” at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

For his much-anticipated Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, legendary rapper LL Cool J brought the energy in Cleveland considerably high, thanks to the night’s first major surprise guests: Eminem and Jennifer Lopez.

LL Cool J kicked off his set with a bang, going into 1987’s “Rock Around the Clock”-quoting “Go Cut Creator Go,” from Bigger and Deffer. Sporting an all-silver iridescent jumpsuit with silver sparkle accents on the cuffs and neck, as well as a gray knit hat and sunglasses, he darted and jumped on the stage like a prizefighter.

After spitting a bit of 1988’s “Going Back to Cali,” surprise guest, Detroit legend, Eminem walked onstage. What ensued was a positively incendiary collaboration on “Rock the Bells.”

Listen: Eminem, Mr. Porter, Esham & more co-host LL Cool J’s “Rock The Bells” radio

It’s the Detroit time on LL Cool J’s ‘Rock The Bells’ radio channel as Eminem, Royce 5’9″, Esham, Trick Trick, Mr. Porter and other Motor City legends co-host the show. With the help of @flowstoowet twitter account, we have some of the recordings to listen.

Eminem talked about underground Detroit hip hop rap scene when he was coming up at the Hip-Hop Shop: “Back in the days, we had community where everybody kinda knew each other or if you didn’t know anybody and you wanted to make a name for yourself you would come up in that scene and you might be able to get on the mic and rap. And that’s where the Hip-Hop Shop comes into play. Every Saturday, the best of the best Detroit emcees would come and everybody would just rhyme and they kinda passed the mic around. Every once a month we had a battle. That was one of the things that was so great about our underground scene in Detroit, coming up.”

Esham also revealed that there is no beef between the two legends of Detroit: “Just to set the record straight, to let everybody know, there is no beef between me and Eminem. That was rap s**t. Rap was a full contact sport back in the 90s. So yeah, I might do some jabs and I might have took some. Back then I might talk about your mamma, everybody. That’s how rap was. But as far as I’m concerned, Eminem put the Detroit rap on the map.”

Mr. Porter also talks about how he started the production career. You can listen to the audio below:
