Angry Nicki Minaj shows love to Eminem following NFL & JAY-Z snubbing Lil Wayne over Kendrick Lamar

Couple of days ago, Kendrick Lamar was announced as the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show headliner (Sunday, September 8, 2024), and part of the hip-hop world spoke up about Lil Wayne being overlooked with the 2025 big game being in his hometown of New Orleans.

Considering the year K. Dot has had with the massive success of his Drake diss track, “Not Like Us,” the decision wasn’t necessarily a surprising one. However, according to some hip-hop artists, Weezy should have been chosen to headline the show—especially since it’s in Wayne’s hometown.

Wayne’s longtime collaborator Nicki Minaj has also expressed her disappointment in NFL and lashed out on JAY-Z (who is adviser on selecting artists for major NFL performances) on X (formerly twitter. She also showed love to Eminem for not doing 2022 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show without 50 Cent: “Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego. Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!!!!!! THE GOAT?!!!!!!!!!!! Nola what’s good?!!!!!! Eminem stood firm on having 50Cent come out. A white man. S–t sad. House NI-GER TINGZ. but it’s GOOD FI DEM!!!!!!! No loyalty ? Welp. then ni-gaz will keep son’ing you!!!!! #DTLR #GagCityDC LMFAOOOOOOOOOO GOODAZ FI DEL GAL U AH GOODAZ FI DEM.” she tweeted.

Nicki appreciates the fact that a white man (Eminem) is helping his black friend (50 Cent) but a black man (JAY-Z) is not doing the same for a black man (Lil Waye). As you might know, Eminem refused to perform at the 2022 Super Bowl without 50 Cent.

Then she continued in the next tweet: “And btw, you don’t know the half of what lil Wayne has done for me & others. Wayne had drake & I on his tour w/no papers signed. He was on all of my mixtapes w/no papers signed. This man has literally changed the FACE of hip hop. The hair too. IYKYK. He inspired so many to tat their faces & get locks. Inspired your faves to wanna be a great MC. he never was in this for the money. It’s always been for the love of music. #GagCityDC TONIGHT #DTLR.” Check the tweets below.

MC Eiht shows massive love to Eminem & Kendrick Lamar

MC Eiht has recently sat down on VLAD TV where he talked about Dr. Dre naming Eminem the greatest emcee ever and gave Slim Shady and Kendrick Lamar their flowers.

“Cause to him, it’s basically, not to say that’s his artist but, he’s different. Not to say that Cube and Kendrick or whoever were on the same patter. Snoop? You’ve seen that. You got a team of stars and s–t but there is only one Michael Jordan. You got a team of motherf–king great f–king picture painters but there is only one Leonardo da Vinci so that’s the category he’s putting.” said MC Eiht.

Then he continues: “To me, I feel, after seeing Kendrick, now Kendrick’s a great artist, he’s quoted that. Nobody could top Cube, Cube was the s–t. So’s Snoop. Snoop’s in the lane of his own but to him, in his opinion of <I’ve worked with ni–as from this color to that color, I’ve worked with motherf–kers from singing to rapping, to Jazz to f–king whatever and in my opinion, to me, Eminem is the greatest artist I’ve come across because he’s able to do something that I have not seen anyone else do as far as what he creates>.”

“My Name Is was so crafty. I used to bang that s–t out of Hi My Name Is. It was different. He’s given us all types of music. Something that we are related to as far as the ears and the beat is just captivating but then when you hear this motherf–ker talking about school and f–king parents and s–t like that, you only imagine yourself being in his shoes as from what he came from and it was crafty than just doing something typical like Ice Ice Baby. Something like they would not expect a white artist to do. So for him to be able to come with that depression and that expression about life and what he felt about it, it was just able to captivate different audience. Eminem, Kendrick, those are different dudes. You can’t put nothing past them. You have to give them their own lane. I don’t even consider them just rappers. That motherf–kers are different. Kendrick have passed the idea of me putting a CD in my car, rolling down the street, bumping and s–t. He’s the motherf–ker that I’m about to pull over and listen to what he’s saying. And I’mma go ‘damn! that ni–a said that?!’ That’s how you look at Eminem. That’s how you look at Kendrick.” MC Eiht added. You can watch the interview below:

Eminem shouts out Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Joyner Lucas & Wu-Tang on “Renaissance”

On Friday (July 12, 2024),  after 4 years break, Eminem returned with 12th solo  studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce). The project opens with the intro track titled “Renaissance,” which finds Slim Shady name-dropping several rappers, giving them credits

“Now let’s travel inside the mind of a hater / ‘Cause I don’t see no fans, all I see’s a bunch of complainers / ‘Kendrick‘s album was cool, but it didn’t have any bangers / Wayne‘s album or Ye‘s, couldn’t tell you which one was lamer / Joyner’s album was corny, Shady’s new s–t is way worse / Everything is either too tame or there’s too much anger / I didn’t like the beat, so I hated Might Delete Later‘ / You nerdy pricks would find somethin’ wrong with 36 Chambers / It’s what they do to the greats / Pick apart a Picasso and make excuses to hate / So you can wait for your flowers until you’re blue in the face / Stupid, you ain’t gonna get ’em until your funeral.” raps Eminem.

Some hip-hop fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, believe the lyrics are shots at K-Dot and others namedropped but Em is clearly giving credit to them. He’s obviously speaking in the third person through the outlook of a hater and is not dissing Dot or the other MCs he named. However, the same can’t be said for Ja Rule who catches a stray on the song “Guilty Conscience 2.”

Royce 5’9″ on if him & Eminem siding with Kendrick Lamar in Drake beef

The Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud seemingly ended after Dreezy responded to K. Dot’s “Not Like Us” with the weak, defensive “The Heart Part 6” track and was widely declared the loser of the beef, but Kendrick has been getting more and more juice out of his Drake diss tracks, especially “Not Like Us.”

The song debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts, and Kendrick went on to perform it five times in a row at his Juneteenth concert “Ken & Friends = The Pop Out,” which also included the live debuts of “Euphoria” and “6:16 in LA,” a Black Hippy reunion (Kendrick, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul), Shady Records’ Westside Boogie and more. Now, Kendrick has released a video for “Not Like Us,” and the clip is loaded with more Drake disses and references to their beef.

In his latest post on Instagram, Royce 5’9″ shared a picture with Yahki Rapha Elohim with “Not Like Us” playing over it. Under the comment sections, one of the user commented: “So I assume Em against Drake too,” on which Royce replied: “Your assumption would be wrong… We’re not against anybody .. Proud of both sides.” Another user commented: “It ain’t worth posting the pic with the song if you finna defend yourself in the comments all day. You did this s–t on purpose my guy,” on that Royce responded with: “Defending myself? I ain’t your guy… I post what I want… When I want…” That user replied again: “you could’ve left the last response G it ain’t that deep for me. But you are defending yaself because you know you on some sucka ish. Oak Park ain’t raise you like that.” Royce hit back with: “I like Drake. Can’t stand his fans tho… All yall act like Virgos.

Someone commented: “Royce on Kenny’s side. love to see it.” On that, the Detroit icon replied: “I’m not on anyone side..” Another said: “Someone don’t like Drake lol,” and Royce responded: ” I’m a fan of Drake bro.

One of the users (probably a Drake fan) reminded him a Lupe Fiasco beef: “Why you ain’t play the song Lupe smashed your mic with,” he asked. Royce 5’9″ responded: “What’s it called?” He replied back: “Steve Jobs / SLR 3 … go back & listen again so you can get a reminder just how bad Lupe did you. We ain’t hear a song from you since on the other hand Lupe dropped 2 fire albums since he dismantled your mic.” Royce ironically replied: “Awwww man you googled.” Check the post below:

Westside Boogie performs “Silent Ride” & “Not Like Us” with Kendrick Lamar

In his latest show called “The Pop Out,” Kendrick Lamar did something that culture will forever be grateful. Kendrick reunited Black Hippy at Kia Forum in Los Angeles and this moment was definitely for the core TDE fans. He reunited his rap supergroup that formed in 2008 and consisted of ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock. It was also great moment for Shady/Aftermath as Kendrick invited Westside Boogie to sing “Not Like Us” with him.

Kendrick Lamar also brought out the one and only Dr. Dre. As if the show hadn’t packed enough punch the Kia Forum almost lost its top as Dr. Dre appeared next to Kendrick and the recognizable cords of “Still D.R.E.” grabbed the attention of the audience. The rap legend knew exactly what the people wanted and then went into “California Love”. But before he could leave the stage Kendrick asked him a favor. Dre whisper “psssss….I see dead people,” an intro to “Not Like Us” and the room exploded.

Kendrick performed “Not Like Us” five times! You heard it right, FIVE TIMES and during one of the performances, he called our boy Westside Boogie to perform the song shoulder to shoulder. “Bro, I’m finna cry.” tweeted Boogie on which Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg replied “GO BOOGIE!”

Right before that, Westside Boogie performed “Silent Ride” from his 2019 Shady Records debut album Everythings For Sale.

Kendrick Lamar brings out Dr. Dre for “Still DRE,” “California Love” & “Not Like Us”

Kendrick Lamar truly delivered the performance of a lifetime.

Kendrick Lamar is coming off of a feud with Drake, and as you can imagine, fans around the world are hyped. Overall, Kendrick gave us some truly incredible diss tracks. Two of the best to come from the beef are “Euphoria” and “Not Like Us.” Tonight, K. Dot performed them both. He started his show with “Euphoria” and it was absolutely phenomenal performance. However, he eventually blew the roof of KIA Forum with his first-ever performance of “Not Like Us.” Of course, in the eyes of many, this is the song of the summer. Not to mention, Dr. Dre was the one to intro the song.

Fans had been wanting this ever since Kendrick’s “Pop Out” show had been announced a couple of weeks ago. Below, you can see the moment that Kendrick Lamar decided to perform the track. It was a moment that fans are going to remember forever, and many couldn’t believe they got to witness it live. However, Kendrick truly unloaded the clip tonight. In fact, he even performed “6:16 In LA,” which is a song fans didn’t really expect him to do.

This has been an incredible night of music. Earlier in the show, we got some music from some of the West Coast’s best artists. Furthermore, some bigger acts like Roddy Ricch, YG, and Tyler, the Creator got to come up on stage, even our man Westside Boogie was there! Overall, it was a great moment, and fans were treated to nothing but bangers. If you are a hip-hop fan, then you had to have loved every moment of this. Hopefully some day, Kendrick decides to do it all over again.

Westside Boogie looking for a rap beef, comments on Drake & Kendrick Lamar feud

Westside Boogie has recently visited Hat Club to do some hat shopping. In the newest episode of Crowned hosted by Brownbag Podcast’s and Power 106’s Rosecrans Vic at Hat Club LA on Melrose Avenue, Boogie talks about his music career, his love for the fitted culture, when his latest music projects will be releasing soon and much more.

About Superheroes from Compton.
I’m going to take out Dr. Dre from there just because I feel like he represents LA as a whole. He’s like a cheat code so let’s just be more specific. My big hommie [G Weer] who is one of the reasons I got signed. That’s my number one hero. Number two, Kendrick. He’s from my neighborhood, shout out to the guy. Shout out to Serena, one of the greatest athletes of all time. DJ Quik, one of my inspirations growing up. I gravitated towards his beats and I feel like that’s a west coast sound. One more? Can I say myself? Myself! I’m a hero.

About Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef.
I’m going to be bias and I’m going to be a delusional LA native always. Kendrick was my favorite rapper before this and the fact that he’s from my neighborhood I’m always going to side with him. But I think it was super dope for hip-hop, not to discredit anything that Drake done for hip-hop, the city got a W. We won it, in my opinion. The fact that in this era where we all got this short attention span and they gave us music back to back to back to back and you got to see Kendrick strategy, stepping all over releases, I think it was dope!

About friendly back and forth beef with someone.
Oh yeah [I’m down for that]. I always wanted that. I love competing. I feel like, if you say you competing you got to have that moment in your career where you go at somebody and see if you could survive and it could define you so I think it’s dope. I’m waiting for the smoke. It’s hard for me to picture myself having problem with somebody just on some rap s–t. I got to really not like you. You really got to say something disrespectful about the person and even get the point across.

About his new music music.
Trying to get out of my head and drop third album. So, that’s the plan. With artists like myself, who spend a lot of time working on lyrics and making sure to put out the best product you get caught in that overthinking so this year is the year I’m trying to actually drop. As far as the message I wanna deliver with this project, it’s still n early stages. I got a lot of records done so it’s about filtering out my ideas and making sure I got tunnel vision of what I want to do with the project and what message I want to deliver.

Fans think Kendrick Lamar did to Drake what Eminem did to MGK after hearing new Drake verse

Drake has contributed a verse to “Wah Gwan Delilah,” a new Toronto-themed remix of “Hey There Delilah” by rapper who goes by the name of Snowd4y.

Arriving on the tails of Drake’s highly-publicized rap feud with Kendrick Lamar, his “Wah Gwan Delilah” verse sees him cheekily re-imagine the lyrics of the Plain White T’s classic with Toronto lingo and a healthy layer of auto-tune, though in all honesty, the feature sounds like it could really go either way on being AI or not.

For his part, Snowd4y — who provides most of the vocals for the remix — has been teasing Drake’s involvement on social media for weeks, sharing videos of him revealing the feature to friends. Drake’s recent feud with Lamar had been simmering for some time, but came to a head this past April when the two artists began releasing back-and-forth diss tracks, culminating with Lamar’s “Not Like Us” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Drake followed up with the non-charting “The Heart Part 6.”

Fans are disappointed by Drake’s new singing verse and some of them now claim Kendrick Lamar made Drake to change the genre like Eminem did to Machine Gun Kelly with “Killshot” back in 2018. Check out some reactions below:

Royce 5’9″ on who won battle between Drake & Kendrick Lamar

The Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef is an ongoing rap feud between Canadian rapper and Compton rappers. The conflict escalated in March 2024 after the release of “Like That” by Future and Metro Boomin, featuring Lamar.

Their first collaboration was in 2011, on Drake’s album Take Care, with another collaboration a year later on Lamar’s album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. Lamar later dissed Drake and several other rappers on the 2013 song “Control” by Big Sean, saying he wanted to “murder” them in music. He clarified that his verse was intended to be seen as “friendly competition”.

In 2023, J. Cole proposed on the track “First Person Shooter” from Drake’s album For All the Dogs that he, Drake, and Lamar were the “Big Three” of hip-hop, prior to stating that he feels like Muhammad Ali, implying that he sees himself as the greatest out of the “Big Three”. The conflict was reignited in March 2024 when Lamar dissed Cole and Drake on the song “Like That”, rejecting the existence of a “Big Three”. Cole then responded to Lamar on the diss track “7 Minute Drill”, which Cole thereafter apologized for and removed from streaming services.

Drake then released the songs “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle” in April, with the latter containing AI-generated vocals of Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg. “Taylor Made Freestyle” was later deleted from social media after Shakur’s estate expressed its disapproval of the song and threatened Drake with legal action. In response, Lamar released the song “Euphoria” on April 30 and “6:16 in LA” on May 3. Drake responded with “Family Matters” later that day, accusing Lamar of being a domestic abuser and alleging that one of Lamar’s children was fathered by Dave Free. Twenty minutes later, Lamar released “Meet the Grahams”, accusing Drake of being a sexual predator and fathering another secret child. Lamar then released “Not Like Us” the following evening and on May 5, Drake responded with “The Heart Part 6″, denying Lamar’s accusations and claiming his team gave Lamar false information about the secret child.

While majority of hip-hop fans think Kendrick Lamar has the victory, Royce 5’9” thinks that the actually winners are the hip-hop fans who witnessed one of the biggest beets in the history of rap. “Somebody just asked me, who won?? My reply: THE FANS.” said Royce on Instagram. You can check the post below:

Azealia Banks lashes out on Eminem & Kendrick Lamar AGAIN

Singer and rapper Azealia Banks, who is well-known of her controversial talks, has recently weighed in on J. Cole apologizing to Kendrick Lamar for a diss record and involved Eminem into her rant on Instagram.

“Ya know, a 4’9″ n-gga who can’t do a push up starting beef with everyone he’s jealous of because of his powerful relatives is very soon going to run out of gas. Kendrick’s relatives are eventually going to become tired of being involved in this girly a-s drama. Next time Kendrick pulls one of these, please ask him to come outside. Threatening people’s lives while preaching that all that black royalty s–t is bogus.” said Azealia Banks.

The she continued: “Not to mention, there are slew of white ghostwriters, literally penning these songs about the “black struggle” for Kendrick and tons of other rap n-ggas. Kendrick’s place in the grand scheme is to transform the devastating realities of life in black America from hard foot into a puree for toothless white consumers to feel good about themselves and and like they have made a change because they bought the Kendrick Lamar CD. I’m sorry. I really can’t believe the industry gave me such a hard time for expressing my opinion while these rap n-ggas literally have the girliest beef ever. Like, why don’t you n-ggas figure out who is literally hunting you all and and figure out how the f–k to stay alive instead of this bulls–t. And Kendrick, make some a-s shakers, for f–ks sake, you’ve been short and angry for a decade.”

“You too Eminem… White Male rage has no place in hip-hop. Make an a-s shaker dammit. Eminem really makes school shooter music. We don’t care about your battle with drugs. Sober people got hit by cars too. Like, how did hip-hop really let this white dude get away with lyrics about fantasizing about killing his mother. Like… No. Em belongs in the psych ward. I can’t beleive we s–tted on Vanilla Ice (who is actually swagged the f–k out) to accept Eminem’s weird a-s.” Azealia Banks added.

This is not the first time Azealia attacked Eminem. She went at Eminem in few other occasions. Couple of years ago, she said on Instagram: “Eminem always been annoying and garbage. I can’t, won’t and refuse to consume white male anger in rap form. I’m picking Paul Wall and Bubba Sparxxx over Eminem ANYDAY. Can we also make Eminem’s glorified white male rage a factor in what influences white school shooters lmao… We love to blame black parents and black stars for *what’s wrong with our youth* but really let Em write whole songs about wanting to murder his own mother. We really should blame Eminem for everything.”

50 Cent reacts to J. Cole apologizing to Kendrick Lamar

J. Cole has publicly apologized to Kendrick Lamar for dissing him on “7 Minute Drill” from his new album Might Delete Later, while performing at Dreamville Festival. Walking back his lyrics about his longtime friend on the surprise song that was released on last week, Cole expressed regret about releasing the track.

“I’m so proud of my new album, except for one part. It’s one part of that s–t that makes me feel like, man that’s the lamest s–t I did in my f–kin’ life, right? And I know this is not what a lot of people want to hear. I was conflicted because: one, I know my heart and I know how I feel about my peers. These two n-ggas that I just been blessed to even stand beside in this game, let alone chase their greatness. So I felt conflicted ’cause I’m like, bruh, I don’t even feel no way. But the world wanna see blood. I don’t know if y’all can feel that, but the world wanna see blood.” said J. Cole to the crowed during his headlining set.

Then he continued: “That s–t disrupts my f–king peace. So what I want to say right here tonight is in the midst of me doing that, trying to find a little angle and downplay this n-gga’s f–king catalog and his greatness, I want to say right now tonight, how many people think Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest motherf–kers to ever touch a f–king microphone? Dreamville, y’all love Kendrick Lamar, correct? As do I. I just want to come up here and publicly be like, bruh, that was the lamest, goofiest s–t. I say all that to say it made me feel like 10 years ago when I was moving incorrectly. And I pray that God will line me back up on my purpose and on my path. I pray that my n-gga really didn’t feel no way and if he did, my n-gga, I got my chin out. Take your best shot. I’ma take that s–t on the chin, boy. Do what you do.”

“All good. It’s love. And I pray that y’all forgive a n-gga for the misstep and I can get back to my true path. Because I ain’t gonna lie to y’all, the past two days felt terrible. It let me know how good I’ve been sleeping for the past 10 years.” J. Cole added. The Dreamville boss also said he would be taking the diss track off streaming services but at the time of writing this article, it is still available on Spotify and Apple Music.

J. Cole’s apology was not well received by many in Hip Hop and it looks like 50 Cent is one of them. Taking to his social media accounts, Fif posted a screenshot of the article of Cole apologizing with the caption: “WTF how I miss this, J. Cole call my phone, right now!” Check the post below:

Joyner Lucas names artists who are better than him

Couple of days ago, Joyner Lucas released his much anticipated album titled Not Now I’m Busy with features from Jelly Roll, Twista, NBA YoungBoy, Logic, Conway The Machine, the late legend DMX and more. To promote the album, the Worcester, Massachusetts-born rapper sat down with Sway In The Morning on Shade 45 where he talked about his new album, DMX influence, Big 3 convo and more. At one point of the interview, Joyner listed artists that he feels are better than him and there is no weakness to acknowledge it.

“I never really had a desire to be the king of anything. It’s just not my personality to be self-proclaimed to anything. I just kinda allow people place me where they wanna place me but that does not mean I’m not competitive. I just never really care to be like ‘I’M THE BEST, I’m THE KING. I’M THE BEST RAPPER IN THE WORLD.’ It’s all subjective.” said Joyner Lucas.

Then he continued: “A lot of people say you should want to be the best, you should say you are the best and nobody’s better than you. They think it’s weak to say somebody is better than you. I disagree with that. I don’t feel that at all. I feel like there are lots of artist that are better than me. Eminem is better than me. Drake is better than me. I don’t have a problem saying that. People might look at me as weak for saying that but that’s just how I feel.”

“I feel like certain artists are better than me. Do I feel like Drake is better storyteller record to me? F–k no! There’s no way. He can’t make “I’m Not Racist,” he can’t make “Ross Capicchioni,” he can’t make “Best For Me,” but he can make “God’s Plan,” I can’t make that s–t. He can make “Hotline Bling,” I can’t do that s–t. He can hop into all these different lanes and s–t and do all these “Controller.” He’s a hybrid for real. He can sing and s–t. I can’t sing. But I think he’s overall better than me. All these stats and all the things that he could do that I could not. Kendrick can get lyrically better than me. He get busy and I love that about Kendrick. So to answer your question, I don’t care about being the besI’m just a fan of other artists bro.” Joyner Lucas added.
