Eminem has been replaced on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart after nearly one month at No. 1

Eminem released his 12th solo studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) a little more than a month ago. Since then, the album has been performing greatly on the charts, especially in the Detroit legends home country, the United States and let’s not forget, the United Kingdom. Eminem’s new project had been running the show on several Billboard charts for weeks, but after a notable reign, it has finally come to an end.

The Death of Slim Shady has been forced from the top spot on two of Billboard’s albums tallies. This frame, the set slips from No. 1 to No. 2 on both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums charts. Marshall Mathers steps aside as Vultures 2, the latest collaborative album from Ty Dolla $ign and Kanye West debuts at No. 1. The LP marks the second successful project from the two hip-hop artist, and, for the moment, it’s running the show on the genre-specific tallies that The Death of Slim Shady previously dominated.

Ye and $ign debut their new set at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 charts losing out to Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department on both of those lists. On the Top Streaming Albums chart, the Vultures sequel launches at No. 6. Vultures 2 scored Ye’s second-lowest first week sales with 107,000 album-equivalent units. These units consisted of 46,000 streaming-equivalent units, 60,500 pure album sales, and 500 track-equivalent units. The album also accumulated a total of 50.44 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs.

The Death of Slim Shady, meanwhile, slips slightly on two of those charts. Eminem’s new full-length dips to No. 10 on the Top Streaming Albums list and No. 11 on the Billboard 200 this frame.  Eminem did manage to conquer the Billboard 200 the week that The Death of Slim Shady first arrived, while Ye and $ign failed to do so. Vultures 2 marks the end of Kanye West’s winning streak on that chart, as his last 11 projects released under his name have all reached the summit on the competitive roster.

In the coming weeks–and perhaps even in just a few days–Eminem could return to No. 1 on some of Billboard’s hip-hop-leaning tallies. The Death of Slim Shady has real staying power, as it’s already racked up several turns atop multiple lists, and fans are still listening and physical copies are scheduled to hit the stores in September.

Since the release of Eminem’s The Death Of Slim Shady album, many tried to take the crow on the Rap Charts but failed. As a result, some of the rap’s most anticipated albums debuted at No. 2 or lower, including Childish Gambino’s Bando Stone & the New World and Ice Spice’s Y2K!.

Eminem calls out corny white rappers on “Bad One”, disses MGK, namedrops Kanye West

Eminem’s 12th solo studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) is finally here and it’s as controversial as ever. “Bad One,” featuring White Gold is one of the tracks where Em talks A LOT.

In the third verse of the song, Eminem calls out corny white rappers who imitate him and checked Candace Owens too: “Yeah, this whole sub-genre with all these corny white rappers, I’m not a fan of it / It ain’t my fault, but like sock puppets, I had a hand in it / This thousand bucks in my hand is just like what Candace did / When she turned her back on her own race ’cause I have abandoned it.” Candace Owens is a political commentator known for her controversial views on race and politics, often accused of betraying her own community.

Eminem also namedropped Ye (Kanye West) with the following lines: “Brain is dead, space cadet / Like when Ye forgets to take his meds / So when they get mad or angry at / A statement that I may have said / I just say, “Man, I didn’t say that s–t, Shady did / ‘Cause all I do is write the rhymes and then wait for that beat to play, spit ’em…”

Em also threw shots at Machine Gun Kelly at the end of the third verse: “Mission accomplished, people off this stunt / And pissed a billion people off at once (Yeah) / But I gotta keep going Tyson on Kelly (What?) / I bodied him twice already / That little motherf–ker’s back throwing subs (Like what?) like a food fight at the deli / And that is why E got (EGOT) the attitude he got like Liza Minnelli / My male ego / Is the size of the belly on Jelly Roll…”

In the last couple of years, MGK would subliminally re-ignite the beef by sending subliminal shots at Em. He also recently said that Eminem didn’t win the battle. Shady seemingly responds him by saying he’s “going Tyson” on Kelly, which is a common phrase for winning. “Tyson” is a call to Mike Tyson, who is one of the most well-renowned fighters in history. As far as the following lines, an EGOT is the term for someone who has won all of the major American performing arts awards (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony). Liza Minnelli became an EGOT winner in 1990.

Right before those lines, Em also made a reference to incident between Diddy and Kid Cudi that happened in 2012: “The people still seem to think they want the old me ’til they get him / Got ’em up in arms like monkey bars / The f–king bomb with the Puffy on / I’m blowing up for Kid Cudi’s car / In front of his house where all his buddies are / Just another day at the office, but it seems like Marsh’s f–king job is done.” Puff blew up Kid Cudi’s car in New York because Diddy thought Ciara was cheating on him with Cudi.

A lot to comprehend? Just enjoy the music below then:

Eminem shouts out Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Joyner Lucas & Wu-Tang on “Renaissance”

On Friday (July 12, 2024),  after 4 years break, Eminem returned with 12th solo  studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce). The project opens with the intro track titled “Renaissance,” which finds Slim Shady name-dropping several rappers, giving them credits

“Now let’s travel inside the mind of a hater / ‘Cause I don’t see no fans, all I see’s a bunch of complainers / ‘Kendrick‘s album was cool, but it didn’t have any bangers / Wayne‘s album or Ye‘s, couldn’t tell you which one was lamer / Joyner’s album was corny, Shady’s new s–t is way worse / Everything is either too tame or there’s too much anger / I didn’t like the beat, so I hated Might Delete Later‘ / You nerdy pricks would find somethin’ wrong with 36 Chambers / It’s what they do to the greats / Pick apart a Picasso and make excuses to hate / So you can wait for your flowers until you’re blue in the face / Stupid, you ain’t gonna get ’em until your funeral.” raps Eminem.

Some hip-hop fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, believe the lyrics are shots at K-Dot and others namedropped but Em is clearly giving credit to them. He’s obviously speaking in the third person through the outlook of a hater and is not dissing Dot or the other MCs he named. However, the same can’t be said for Ja Rule who catches a stray on the song “Guilty Conscience 2.”

Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg responds Kanye West’s apology to Jewish community

Yesterday, Kanye West, who has faced huge backlash for repeatedly making anti-Semitic comments, shared a public apology in Hebrew to Jewish people for his actions.

“I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for my unplanned outburst caused by my words or actions, it was not my intention to hurt or disrespect, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused,” reads his statement, which was shared through the Instagram (and was translated into English).

Ye continues: “I am committed to starting with myself and learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future. Being forgiven is important to me and I am committed to making amends and promoting unity.”

In response to Kanye West’s apology, the Anti-Defamation League, a non-profit advocacy organization, released a statement: “After causing untold damage by using his vast influence and platform to poison countless minds with vicious antisemitism and hate, an apology in Hebrew may be the first step on a long journey towards making amends to the Jewish community and all those who he has hurt. Ultimately, actions will speak louder than words but this initial act of contrition is welcome.”

It seems, Eminem’s longtime friend and manager Paul Rosenberg could not agree more as he shared the statement on Instagram: “I visited the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe today in Berlin (yes, that’s what it’s called and it’s not supposed to be pleasant). It’s a deep, powerful monument- if you make it to Berlin, please spend some time and make the visit. You to, @kanyewest. Actions > Words.”

Westside Gunn says Eminem, Jay-Z & Kanye West helped him realize how ‘ill’ he is

Many hip-hop artists have been influenced by Eminem, JAY-Z, and Kanye West during the course of their careers, and Westside Gunn just acknowledged that he is one of them.

The Griselda rapper has recently sat down on SiriusXM‘s “Hip Hop Nation” radio show for an exclusive interview with Torae. Despite his impressive resume, the Buffalo, NY native didn’t realize how dope he was on the mic until he started spending time with those legends.

“Not to sound crazy — I learned how ill I am. You heard the names that you just named. They don’t get no bigger.” – said Westside Gunn

Then he continued: “And these is guys that’s my friends, my family. I could call them and ask them for anything. So, that’s how you have Virgil Abloh on the cover of Gunn’s albums Pray for Paris and And Then You Pray for Me. The ‘Steve & Jony’ record that’s on the album? That idea came from Hov. He called me and him that. We was just talking about this album, and he was like, ‘Yo, you should name one of them songs that.’”

Damian Lillard picks Eminem as ‘worst artist’ from an iconic Hip-Hop list

Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard recently proclaimed himself as the best athlete rapper of all time. Claiming to be a better artist than his biggest competition in the NBA, Shaquille O’Neal, Lillard revealed a range of details about his favorite artists.

Speaking on the BACKONFIGG podcast, Ep:108, Lillard was also asked to select two of his worst rappers, from a lineup of the best artists of all time that included: Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Nas, Kanye West, Drake, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, J. Cole and 50 Cent. He ended up choosing the likes of Kanye West and 50 Cent, after quite a bit of struggle.

Lillard claimed that nobody else takes music as seriously as he does. Having recently released the Dame Dolla album in August 2023, Lillard claimed that he was making a lot of music, and claimed to be taking the art more seriously than Shaquille O’Neal.

Regardless, when asked to choose his two worst rappers from a list of some of the best rappers of all time, Lillard was left confused. He initially asked whether he should choose on the basis of music, or sheer ability to rap. Lillard was told that he simply needs to decide which two rappers will end up “going away”:

“Like the actual ability to rap, the ability to rap, or their actual music? If I’m saying the ability to rap, two gotta go, I am gonna say Kanye and 50 Cent. Two in general, I am gonna say, I mean Eminem one of them for me. I am gonna say Eminem, and… that’s tough. I like some Eminem songs but I ain’t listening to bunch of Eminem songs. ‘Stan’ is one of my favorite songs ever. I listen to all of them on the list, regularly, but I ain’t gonna listen to bunch of Eminem as much as I respect his s–t.” said Damian Lillard

GRIP freestyles over Kanye West’s “Real Friends”

On the latest episode of “A TRIP TO THE CORNER STORE,” GRIP dropped some bars over Kanye West’s “Real Friends,” to promote his latest release, “STILL (5 & A F*** You).” The instrumental is produced by Noah Goldstein, MIKE DEAN, Darren King, Sevn Thomas, Ging, Havoc, Boi-1da and Kanye West himself.

Shady Records’ GRIP is back again after releasing his very well received album “I Died For This!?” 2 years ago, followed by the lesser noticed but worth your time “5 & A F*** You” last year. GRIP is known for being a gritty-flowed new school artist that doesn’t have to rely on whatever sound is currently trending.

Now GRIP is back with a short and sweet, 11-track Deluxe/Follow up album to compliment the first “5 & A F*** You” project. Maybe “sweet” is the wrong word to describe this one. This might be the most I’ve ever seen GRIP let go of his inner aggression and let everything loose. If the title didn’t already make it clear enough, you’ll understand once you push play on track one.

Wicked says Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre are bigger than Jay-Z & Kanye West

Wicked from the Ghetto Mafia has recently sat down on BHIGHT TV’s The Forward Culture where he named Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre as the best ever duo in hip-hop.

“The best group I feel of all time, duo, it’s Snoop and Dre. They technically were not the group that’s why people would not agree because technically this is not a rap group but two guys together there is no greater group.” said Wicked.

Then he continued: “Snoop Dogg should be the logo of rap. Snoop Dogg and Dre is brand. Right now, if we put out brand new Outkast album and Dre and Snoop do a full album together which they have never done. We got to hear what Dre and Snoop talking about! Snoop and Dre over Kanye West and Jay-Z. Snoop and Dre are GOATS! Dr. Dre is a goddamn beast! He been around with so many great rappers: The Snoops, the Ems, 50s and whole N.W.A.”

“Ye and Jay had some hits but if you dropped a full album with Dre and Snoop and Ye and Jay-Z and if we drop them on the same day with same budgets we pretty much know who gonna win that race. You think Kanye is a better producer than Dre? And Jay will bring more charisma to the records than Snoop? That’s what you telling me?! You think Ye is a better producer than Dr. Dre who produced for 50 Cent, Eminem, N.W.A. and the list goes on and on and on.” Wicked added.

In the same interview, Wicked declared Eminem as the best match-up for Lil Wayne in a Verzuz battle: “If we are talking one on one, my catalog against yours, Eminem can go toe to toe with Lil Wayne. Jay Z can go toe to toe with him. LL Cool J is another guy. LL can go against anybody. Rock The Bell album alone, every song on that album, it’s 15! Nas, you know Snoop can go at anybody. His own partner Drake too. I said Em. We can throw Kanye up there. If we are talking about just lyricists, I have no argument with Lil Wayne. I know some people might be upset when I say but Eminem! Em’s a bad motherf–ker. We can’t hate. You know, some people are like ‘I can’t put him in there’ but that’s bulls–t.”

Hitmaka names top 3 greatest producers after shading Hit-Boy

Hitmaka has recently sat down with Jim Jones on Hot 97 with Jim Jones to promote their upcoming “Back In My Prime” joint album.

When Ebro Darden triggered Hitmaka by using his and Hit-Boy’s names in the same sentence, the Chicago, Illinois-born producer was quick to respond: “I’m on the radio. Hit-Boy is not on the radio. I love Hit-Boy. Hit-Boy is a legend. He’s a legendary producer. He has been doing way longer than me. He’s a great guy but I’m the radio for the last four-fivee years.”

Following the interview, TMZ caught Hitmaka in the streets and he was still booming with confidence , naming Dr. Dre as hip hop’s best producer of all-time but adding, at the current moment, he is number one.

“Oh man, damn. Hip-hop producer for me, personally from my own personal taste, I’m from Chicago, so I gotta go with Kanye. Just on a bigger scale, Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz. I’m younger guy and I always show love to the OGs. But as far as now, I’m number one [laughs].” he said.

The D.O.C. & Vanilla Ice react to Eminem’s verse on Kanye West’s “Use This Gospel” remix

Legendary rapper The D.O.C. has recently shared a video of him reacting to Eminem’s verse on Kanye West’s “Use This Gospel” remix, which was released by DJ Khaled through his “God Did” album.

In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1, Khaled revealed how the remix ended up on his album. He stated that West had played him Jesus Is King Part II in full a year and a half prior, calling it “incredible”. Even though West and Khaled had recorded a couple of tracks for God Did, they were never finished due to the rapper’s busy schedule. As part of a “last minute magic gift”, Khaled asked West if he could include the remix on “God Did” since it perfectly fit the album’s theme. According to Khaled, West loved the idea, which he joked “You know Ye don’t love no idea”. Before confirming the inclusion, West insisted on contacting both Dr. Dre and Eminem for their approval which he received shortly after.

The song was commercially successful too. It peaked at No. 49 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The remix further reached the top position on both the US Christian Songs and Gospel Songs charts, becoming the first number-one on these charts for both Khaled and Eminem. It also marked the first entry for both artists and West’s fifth chart-topper on the two charts.

In the video which recently surfaced online, The D.O.C. says: “I think Eminem is one of the greatest. No question about it bro. Em is off my tree. You know, every one of us come from somebody. I can hear me in him. He’s a true f**king artist.”

Under the video, Vanilla Ice, who has got a long history with Eminem, commented the fire emojis under The D.O.C.’s video. Check the video below:
