Micah Parsons calls Eminem the most influential rapper of all time

American football outside linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League Micah Parsons has recently weighted in “Jay-Z VS Eminem: Who had bigger impact on hip-hop culture” discussion.

It all started when former professional basketball player, Jamal Crawford, who played in the National Basketball Association, drew the parallel to hip-hop to rank his top five NBA players of all time and used Eminem and JAY-Z’s impact as an example and said: “In my top five, the dominance outweighs the number. You can not change the game and say this person has more points than me, he is better. It is beyond that. Jay-Z’s affect on hip-hop is bigger than any album sales Eminem will have. That is just how it goes.” It seems Don Canon does not agree.

50 Cent also stated his opinion when The Hip-Hop Wolf Instagram page posted Crawford’s interview and asked fans if they agree to the statement or not. Under the comment section, Fifty replied: “Ha, bulls–t.” with Sneezing Face emoji.

No Jumper podcast host Almighty Suspect also denied Crawford’s statement: “Bro, I can name like six Eminem clones right now. Hopsin, DAX, Logic, MGK, that white McDonald dude that white dude who’s is making If-I-Was-Black songs. Joyner Lucas is one of them too. That’s the six. I’m not naming rappers that look like Eminem. I’m naming rappers who are actual clones of Eminem. I just named six. Tell me, name me, six Jay-Z clones.”

Battle rapper Math Hoffa avoided the question with a clever answer: “[Bigger impact had] Whoever mutually inspired both of them. Like LL Cool J, Rakim, Bigg Daddy Kane. Em said he was inspired by AZ.”

Micah Parsons seems to be the most straightforward and frankly in sharing his opinion on Twitter: “Eminem really might be the most influential rapper I ever heard!.”

Evangeline Lilly & Kathryn Newton were stunned to learn Eminem created word ‘Stan’

It’s hard to come up with something that becomes a cultural mainstay or enters into the English dictionary and Eminem did it unintentionally: His 2000 hit song “Stan,” featuring Dido, from The Marshall Mathers LP is about an obsessive fan, and it was such a popular and descriptive depiction of that sort of person that the word “stan” is now commonly used to describe passionate fans.

The word “stan” has become its own thing distinct from Eminem at this point, as Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania stars Kathryn Newton and Evangeline Lilly proved in a recent interview.

In a recent PopBuzz presser, the two were asked about the word and it turned out they had complementary sets of knowledge: Lilly hadn’t heard of the term “stan” but was aware of the Eminem song, while Newton is up on her slang but didn’t know the word’s origins.

Newton explained how the word is used, which prompted Lilly to wonder if it was the Eminem song that spawned the word: “Is it because of the Eminem song? It’s the one…[starts singing],” she said, “The verses are all about stalkery fan who’s stalking Eminem and is obsessed.” The burden of confusion shifted from Lilly to Newton at that point, who had apparently never made the connection between Eminem and the word “stan” before until after Lilly explained what the song is about.

Melle Mel says Eminem gets Top 5 spot because he’s white

One of the hip-hop pioneers, Melle Mel of Grandmaster Flash, has recently done an interview with The Art Of Dialogue where he shared his thoughts about Eminem being in the Top 5 rappers of all time list by Billboard/Vibe magazine.

“Obviously, he’s a capable rapper. If we talk about sales and he sold more than everybody, okay, if we talk about rhyme style, okay, he got a rhyme style. But he is white! He is white! If Eminem was just another ni–a like the rest of us, would he be top 5 on that list when a ni–a can rhyme just as good as him is 35?! They had records and all that.” said Melle Mel.

Then he continues: “The point is, if I was white, ni–a, I’d be greater than Elvis. Ni–as be like, Melle Mel is greater than Elvis! Melle Mel is the greatest white man that ever lived. He’s the part of the culture that changed the whole world. That is great a– white man right there! But I’m not white, I’m one of the ni–as.”

“I heard one of the dudes that’s down with him, Royce 5’9″, I heard he’s just as good as Eminem, why ain’t he as big as Eminem? Because he’s black! That ain’t hard to figure out. Eminem gets top spot because he’s white. Like I said, If I was white, they’d be comparing me to Elvis. They’d be like ‘that ni–a Melle Mel is pretty as Elvis!’ If he was a black rapper he would not even make a list. He would not make a list, probably.”

“Busta Rhymes, who I’d say is the number one, he can rap just as good as Eminem. Eminem, he really got nice tricky gimmick style, the way he puts the words together, I’m not gonna say its unique, but he does it. If he was just another brother…It’s just not true.” Melle Mel added.

As it seems the legendary hip-hop artist is not a big fan of Eminem, unlike Slim Shady, who gave a shout out to
New York City-born rapper during his Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction speech.

50 Cent teases GTA TV series, will Eminem jump in?

50 Cent is teasing Grand Theft Auto collaboration on Instagram! In his latest cryptic post, Fiddy shared a classic “Vice City” logo with the caption: “I will Explain this later, GLG, GreenLightGang this s–t bigger than POWER trust me. BOOM.”

If 50 Cent is making GTA Vice City TV Series, will Eminem get involved? The two hip-hop titans have most recently collaborated on Episode 7 of BMF, aired on Starz, which is directed by 50 Cent himself and Em makes a cameo as a White Boy Rick.

Late in 2021, six new Dr. Dre songs appeared on Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto expansion GTA Online: The Contract. Among them were “Gospel,” featuring Eminem and The DOC.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a 2002 action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It is the fourth main entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, following 2001’s Grand Theft Auto III, and the sixth instalment overall.

Set in 1986 within the fictional Vice City (based on Miami and Miami Beach), the single-player story follows mobster Tommy Vercetti’s rise to power after being released from prison and becoming caught up in an ambushed drug deal. While seeking out those responsible, he slowly builds a criminal empire by seizing power from other criminal organisations in the city.

Back in 2015, 50 Cent revealed that Eminem once turned down an $8 million movie offer because the script was not gritty enough. Maybe it’s time for the two to team up for something huge that is called “GTA: Vice City” TV show.

Earlier this year, Fiddy spoke with Big Boy where he revealed his plans to make 8 Mile TV series: “I’m gonna bring his 8 Mile to television. And Em knows it. It’s gonna be big. I’m working on it. I ain’t got no does. I’m betting one hundred. It should be there for his legacy. It’s important to me that they understand it. It’s a modern version of Em, think about Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. Like a modern version of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I wanna be able to show and offer a lot more details. I’mma do Snoop Dogg story too.” said 50 Cent

Rare items once owned by Eminem are up for auction

Rare items once owned by hip-hop artists such as Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tupac, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, The Notorious B.I.G., XXXtentacion and Big Pun are all currently up for auction.

From an entire outfit Eminem once wore on stage to a page straight from Drake’s personal rhyme book in which he penned the lyrics to the incredibly rare diss track to Voyce, “Exposed,” the Gotta Have Rock and Roll music memorabilia auction site is paying homage to hip-hop.

Now, as hip-hop celebrates its golden 50th birthday after DJ Kool Herc birthed the eventual global phenomenon on Sedgewick Avenue in the Bronx back in 1973, a new auction has been launched to honor some of hip-hop’s greatest legends.

XXL highlighted some of the most undeniable sought-after items from the rap game’s most elite artists that are all up for auction until March 3, 2023.

Michael Phelps workouts to Eminem’s songs

United States’ most successful and most decorated Olympian of all time with a total of 28 medals, former competitive swimmer, Michael Phelps, shared a video of himself working out to Eminem’s “Greatest” track from his 2018 album, Kamikaze and Till I Collapse from The Eminem Show. “One max. One fail. Til next time front squats. Thx keendog.” he wrote in the caption.

Michael Phelps holds the all-time records for Olympic gold medals, Olympic gold medals in individual events and Olympic medals in individual events. When Phelps won eight gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Games, he broke fellow American swimmer Mark Spitz’s 1972 record of seven first-place finishes at any single Olympic Games.

Phelps is no stranger to Eminem’s music. Back in 2016, then 31-year-old Phelps took home the Lip Sync Battle: All-Stars Live title by crushing Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.”

In 2016, during the interview with New York Times, the legendary swimmer revealed that his pre-race playlist includes songs from Eminem, Jeezy and Lil Wayne: “When I’m walking in this time, it was Eminem. I went back to 2003 Eminem, 2004 Eminem. I had some Lil Wayne from ’08. When I was in the ready room getting ready to go out, I was listening to Nero and Skrillex just kinda trying to really get going and really get amped before I would walk out. That helped a lot.”

Few years ago, Slim Shady was named the best artist to work out to, and a separate study found that listening to the legendary Detroit rapper will boost work out performance. “Till I Collapse,” featuring Nate Dogg was also named Work Out Song Of The Year by Spotify several times. With 28 gold medals to his name, it seems safe to say that Phelps’ playlist is a highly effective one.

D12 & Snoop Dogg perform hit songs in Perth, Australia

Snoop Dogg kicked off his “I WANNA THANK ME” tour in Perth at RAC Arena today with D12’s Swifty McVay and Kuniva serving as an opening acts.

The Californian Hip-Hop icon, who hasn’t performed in Australia since 2014 when he headlined the Big Day Out, returned to the country shores for his ‘I WANNA THANK ME’ tour to celebrate the release of his 17th album ‘I Wanna Thank Me’, and documentary of the same name, released in 2019.

While the ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ documentary celebrates 25 years of Snoop Dogg – a career that has seen the Doggfather cement his undisputed influence on music with chart-topping, multi-platinum records, while also solidifying his importance as a cultural icon, actor and businessman – the upcoming Australian tour is all about the music!

Lil Wayne says he’s better than any other rapper Billboard listed, including Eminem

Billboard and Vibe magazines have recently unveiled an updated list of the 50 greatest rappers of all time and since then the hip-hop heads have been debating for weeks about the list that has Jay-Z at number one, Kendrick Lamar at number two, Nas and number three, Tupac at number four, Eminem at number five, Notorious B.I.G. at number six and Lil Wayne at number seven.

During an appearance on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music podcast show, Lil Wayne has entered into conversation and declared himself the greatest rapper of all time. Weezy says straight up, he is number one and even dares survey-takers to ask the emcees ranked higher than him how they feel about it. In his view, he thinks they would agree on the fact that Wayne is greater than them: “Bro, I am motherf–kin one. I mean, everybody they named, rest in peace, but they also know that I’m number one. Go ask them! Go ask them!”

Lil Wayne proved himself to be one of the best rappers to ever touch the microphone but is he really on Eminem’s level? The two have jumped on a track three times: “Drop The World,” “No Love” and “Forever,” by Drake, which also featured Kanye West. During the interview on Drink Champs, Weezy talked highly about those joints and gave Eminem his flowers: “I did a bunch of joints with Em, that’s ma man. When you get on that joint with Em it’s like a championship game, and you win it, and they ask you how does it feel. I came in with my game plan and I expected my game plan to work. When you send a song to Em you attack it like that, like Nah, yo not going to do me like this. Either we going be right here level with it, and we’re going to make a beautiful, wonderful great song, but you ain’t going do me that above me. And that’s what we did. Can nobody say anybody got bodied. I just made sure that he didn’t body me, cause that boy is a monster.”

Chelsea Handler skis in bikini over Eminem song

Comedian, actress, writer, television host and producer Chelsea Handler is back up to her old birthday antics and looking as Canadian as ever.

The 48-year-old actress is well known for her birthday tradition of skiing partially nude or in barely-there outfits, and she did not disappoint this year.

Handler shared an epic video of her shredding down a mountain in a strapless two-piece bikini with a Canadian flag in the middle of her top and two United States flags on either side, paired with black bottoms, on February 25, 2023.

In the caption of the video, she wrote: “48! Salud!” with Eminem‘s iconic single “Without Me” playing in the background.

Hollywood superstar Jennifer Anniston commented on the post, writing, “INDEED” with fire and hearts emojis.  Paul Nicklen also commented, “Go Canada!!” alluding to the location of Handler’s ski trip. Holland Roden also replied: “This is best tradition any human could do to celebrate their birthday.”

Will Eminem have a song on Denzel Washington’s The Equalizer 3 movie?!

The Equalizer 3 is an upcoming action movie directed by one and only Antoine Fuqua. It is the sequel to the 2018 film The Equalizer 2, which was based on the TV series of the same name. The film stars Eminem’s favorite actor Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning, reuniting on-screen for the first time since 2004’s iconic film Man on Fire. The film is set to be released on September 1st, 2023, by Sony Pictures Releasing.

Filming of The Equalizer 3 began on October 10, 2022 on the Amalfi Coast in Italy and it continued there until November 20, 2022, after which it moved to Naples in early December, 2022, before wrapping production by January 2023, in Italy’s capital city, Rome. Robert Richardson serves as director of photography on the project.

Back in 2014, Eminem and Sia teamed up for “Guts Over Fear” single from Shady Records compilation album SHADYXV which was also included in the closing credits of the film, The Equalizer (2014). Previews of the song premiered in the trailers of the movie and during the end credits for the film.

Eminem and Antoine Fuqua have also collaborated before. Slim Shady was originally scouted for the role of Fuqua’s boxing movie called Southpaw, which he accepted and started filming. The movie had to be put on hold as Eminem wanted to focus on his musical career, so the role was then given to Jake Gyllenhaal but Em still got involved in the movie as he made the soundtracks album, Southpaw (Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture).  This soundtrack has spawned the singles like “Phenomenal” and “Kings Never Die” featuring Gwen Stefani.

Eminem is no stranger for making movie soundtracks. Most recently, the Detroit legend collaborated with CeeLoo Green and Dr. Dre on “The King And I” for the soundtracks of Oscar-winning Elvis movie. The song was later included on Eminem’s second greatest hits album, Curtain Call 2.

Dr. Dre joins Snoop Dogg on his Australian tour

The wait is over for Snoop Dogg fans. Kicking off in Perth at RAC Arena on 27 February 2023 today, Snoop will then head to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena for two huge shows before performing two shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, a massive show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre before wrapping up the tour with a brand new show in Adelaide on March 08, 2023.

It was reported that Detroit’s own Obie Trice was denied entry into the country for misbehavior. As it seems, Dr. Dre will join Snoop on stage as a surprise guest as the legendary duo has just checked in Perth, Australia. In his Instagram post, Snoop wrote: “Life story.”
