Hailie says Eminem is around baby Elliot all the time

In the latest episode of Just a Little Shady podcast, Eminem’s daughter Hailie looks back on her first year of motherhood with refreshing honesty. A standout moment involved a humorous case of mistaken identity during a family gathering. Because Eminem, and his brother Nate look so much alike, her son Elliot accidentally confused the two. Hailie recalled how Elliot naturally gravitated toward Nate for a cuddle, thinking he was his grandfather. The interaction was sweet, though Hailie jokingly admitted to feeling a brief flash of jealousy over the mix-up.

This anecdote highlights the close-knit nature of the Mathers family and the observant, if occasionally confused, nature of babies. For Hailie, seeing Elliot so comfortable with Nate was a “surreal” moment that underscored just how much he has integrated into the family dynamic. It was a lighthearted realization of how babies rely on familiar features to find comfort, even if they occasionally pick the wrong relative.

“We were hanging out with my family and my dad and Nate [Eminem’s brother] obviously look similar, So Elliot, he’s so used to being around my dad, he like randomly went to Nate and grabbed him and just started cuddling him. I was jealous. I was like ‘what’s going on?’ He’s obviously been around Nate to where he could just do that but in that moment I’m like ‘On my gosh, he thinks this is his grandpa.'” said Hailie.
