At just 29 years old, AEW World Champion MJF has already accomplished more than most in a lifetime. A multi-time champion in AEW, longtime Dynamite Diamond Ring holder, major figure in the WWE–AEW bidding war, and now a growing presence in Hollywood, Maxwell Jacob Friedman continues to make headlines inside and outside the ring. In a recent appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, MJF spoke about his role in Happy Gilmore 2 on Netflix and his experience working with Eminem. Playing Adam Sandler’s son in the film, MJF shared a scene where he overpowers Eminem and throws him into a lake, admitting he was completely “star-struck” being around the rap icon. “I did beat the s--t out of Eminem, yeah. Marshall Mathers, he rolls deep. He showed up on that movie set with a big crew, probably 10-15 dudes, and they were all easily as big as Luchasaurus. It’s like massive human beings, and I get it because he’s seen some s--t. So I’d imagine it’s no different than when a wrestling fan might see me out and about, being next to who is arguably the greatest rapper of all time was one of the only times in my life where I was star struck was that moment.” said MJF. Beyond Happy Gilmore 2, MJF has appeared in several other projects, including The Iron Claw, Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen, Part Two, Violent Night 2, and the upcoming Floaters, along with multiple reality television appearances.
