Eminem’s new documentary STANS is scheduled for a limited theatrical release from August 7 to August 10, 2025, exclusively at AMC Theatres in the U.S., with international screenings across cinemas in over 50 countries. Produced by Eminem alongside Paul Rosenberg, Stuart Parr, Antoine Fuqua, Tony DiSanto, and others, and directed by Steven Leckart, the film debuted earlier this year at the London edition of SXSW, earning strong early reviews for its emotional depth and unique focus on fan culture.
Titled after his iconic 2000 track “Stan”—which told the chilling story of an obsessed fan and introduced a term now used worldwide—STANS offers a unique look at Eminem’s career through the lens of his most loyal followers. The documentary features real fans who were selected through a global casting call, and it delves into the intense emotional connections people have formed with Eminem’s music over the past two decades.
Combining never-before-seen archival footage, stylized reenactments, and new interviews, including a rare and candid conversation with Eminem himself, STANS explores the complex relationship between the artist and his global fanbase. The film touches on themes of fame, obsession, loyalty, and personal growth, while also offering insights into Eminem’s mental state, his creative process, and his life outside the spotlight, including his reflections on family.
In conjunction with the documentary, a soundtrack titled STANS: The Official Soundtrack is also being released, featuring tracks from Eminem’s catalog and previously unreleased music inspired by the film. Following its theatrical run, the documentary will be available for streaming on Paramount+, bringing this intimate and powerful exploration of fandom to a global audience. STANS promises to be both a celebration of Eminem’s legacy and a heartfelt tribute to the fans who have stood by him throughout his career.
Eminem has just shared a short footage from the documentary. In the clip, the Detroit icon says: “Every time I write, there is different stages of it. And that’s one of the reasons that I keep a book now and I never get writer’s block. I’m always able to go back in my book and have unlimited ideas. Sometimes I write my rhyming words down and not the stuff in between so that it can’t be put together if someone finds it.” You can watch the video below:
