“Fuel” is a song from Eminem‘s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), featuring JID, produced by Denaun and Eminem himself.
The high-octane collaboration sees the two rappers asserting their dominance in the rap game and their refusal to be silenced. JID sets the tone for the song with an opening verse that establishes his street credibility through references to the struggles and violence prevalent in his hometown.
Eminem follows with a verse that taunts his critics and doubters, weaving in contemporary references such as the Kyle Rittenhouse case, Halyna Hutchins’ accidental death on set by Alec Baldwin, and s-xual assault allegations against Diddy, as well as his alleged involvement in the death of 2Pac.
During a recent interaction with the fans on X, JID revealed that his verse was written on the same year as Kellen Mond was drafted. Kellen Mond was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the 3rd round (66th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft, which took place from April 29 to May 1, 2021. Eminem’s TDOSS dropped on July 12, 2024.
