Eminem ‘s new single “Houdini” has just arrived, and with it a music video that’s chock full of celebrity cameos from Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, comedians Shane Gillis and Pete Davidson, his Shady Records artists GRIP, Westside Boogie, Ez Mil, Denaun Porter, Royce 5’9″ among others.
The music video, like the song, is a throwback to Eminem’s 2002 hit “Without Me,” the first single released off of his blockbuster album “The Eminem Show.” The song reprises the “guess who’s back” intro to the song, and the video features Eminem and Dr. Dre returning to their superhero characters from the video.
“Houdini” is based on a playful interpolation of Steve Miller Band’s 1982 hit “Abracadabra” and finds Eminem returning to his celeb-skewering Slim Shady roots. (Megan Thee Stallion and R. Kelly both are mentioned.) He also dissed his mentor Dr. Dre, his manager Paul Rosenberg, the CEO of Inerscope Jimmy Iovine and even went after his own kids, including Hailie Jade.
“Houdini” is the first single off of Eminem’s new album, called “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).” Right after the single dropped, Eminem’s team update his website withlimited edition pre-order with bonus track. It now reads: June 7, 2024, FOR ONE WEEK ONLY PRE-ORDER THE LIMITED EDITION DIGITAL ALBUM WITH AN EXCLUSIVE BONUS TRACK ONLY AVAILABLE ON EMINEM.COM
“The Death of Slim Shady,” Eminem’s first album since 2020’s “Music to Be Murdered By,” was announced in April, tied to Eminem’s appearance at the first night of the Detroit NFL Draft. It will be Eminem’s 12th solo studio album of his career. Bump the new single below:
