50 Cent has just brought out Eminem at his The Final Lap Tour at the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan (45 miles away from Detroit).
Crowd went absolutely nuts as the Detroit legend and New York icon performed “Patiently Waiting” and “Crack A Bottle” on the stage together.
“Detroit! Don’t f–ing act like you didn’t know I was going to be here,” said Em, dressed in a hoodie with a 50 Cent shirt underneath it.
“Patiently Waiting” is the first of two Eminem collaborations on Fif’s debut album Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, he also appears on “Don’t Push Me.” Despite not being released as a single, this record still managed to reach No. 56 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. On January 19, 2023, “Patiently Waiting” was certified platinum by the RIAA.
“Crack A Bottle” is the first single from Eminem’s sixth studio album Relapse, this song went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Performance by a Duo or Group in 2010.
The song initially gained attention in December 2008, when an unfinished version of the song was initially leaked under the name “Number One” on the mixtape 4th Quarter Pressure Part 2, while a final working version was leaked on January 6, 2009. It features Eminem performing Dre’s verse and an unused Em verse in place of 50 Cent’s.
On February 12, 2009, the song broke the first week digital sales record with 418,000 downloads, topping the previous record held by T.I.’s “Live Your Life”.
This song’s appearance in the Billboard Hot 100 marked Eminem’s first appearance on the chart as lead vocalist in two years. His previous entry was “You Don’t Know” which spent six weeks on the Hot 100 in December 2006 and January 2007.
It was Eminem’s second onstage cameo in recent months, following his surprise link-up with Ed Sheeran at Ford Field in July. You can watch 50 Cent and Eminem killing Pine Knob Music Theatre stage together below:
