Eminem appears in the video of Aerosmith farewell tour announcement

For Aerosmith, it appears to be the end of the road.

The legendary rock band have announced the Peace Out Tour, which will include a September 18, 2023 stop at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

“After 50 years, 10 world tours and playing for over 100 million fans, it’s time for one last go,” the band said in Monday’s announcement. Eminem — who tapped Aerosmith’s “Dream On” for his 2002 hit “Sing for the Moment” from The Eminem Show album — is among the stars featured in a video touting the news.

In the video, Slim Shady is in disbelief of the breaking news that informs us about Aerosmith’s farewell tour: “Oh what the mother…” Em says in the clip. At the end of the trailer, “Dream On” is playing.

Last year, Eminem and Steven Tyler hit the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame stage together to perform “Sing For The Moment.” We believe the two music icons will team up again in September in Detroit!

Rehearsal video of Eminem’s Rock Hall performance has surfaced online

On Saturday night, November 5, 2022, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inducted its 2022 class in grand fashion. Inductees included Eminem, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Dolly Parton, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Carly Simon and Lionel Richie. Judas Priest and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis also joined the Hall Of Fame with the “award for musical excellence.”

Longtime friend and collaborator, his mentor, the legendary producer Dr. Dre had the pleasure of inducting Slim Shady, recalling the first time Jimmy Iovine called to let him know that Eminem was a white guy. “That completely f—d me up. I knew that his gifts were undeniable. Each of us was what the other one needed — and I was willing to bet my entire career on it. He brought hip-hop to middle America.”

There was only one way to follow such a massive induction, and that was with an even fresher performance. Eminem delivered just that, ripping through hits like “My Name Is,” “Forever,” “Not Afraid,” “Stan,” “Sing For The Moment” and “Rap God” — while also featuring surprising guests from Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler to Ed Sheeran. The Alchemist was behind the board and Mr. Porter as a hypeman, as always.

After the performance, the time for Eminem’s speech came: “I’m not supposed to be here tonight. One, I’m a rapper; two, I almost died from an overdose; and three, I really had to fight my way through… I’m a high school drop-out with a hip-hop education.” said Eminem before listening more than one hundred hip-hop acts that influenced him through his spectacular career.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony aired on November 19, 2022 on HBO and today the rehearsal video with Ed Sheeran has surfaced online. You can check the never before seen video footage below:

Eminem – Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame performance (Full HD)

Eminem was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame by Dr. Dre on November 5, 2022 and the ceremony aired on HBO on November 19, 2022. Like we saw last year with LL Cool J, Eminem brought the heat on stage at Microsoft Theater.

Steven Tyler joined him to perform the Aerosmith-sampling “Sing For The Music” and Ed Sheeran subbed in for Dido on “Stan.”

Em’s daughter, Hailie, a frequent presence in his early discography, accompanied him to the ceremony, and the rapper followed his set with a uniformly humble speech in which he shared his gratitude for being alive to experience this moment.

“I’ll keep this as painless as possible, I’m f—ing stuttering and s—,” I’m probably not supposed to actually be here tonight because of a couple of reasons. One, I know that I’m a rapper, and this is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. There’s only a few of us who have been inducted already. Secondly, I almost died from an overdose in 2007, which kind of sucked.” said Eminem.

The performance itself was spectacular as we expected. P!nk, Gwen Stefani, Olivia Rodrigo and LL Cool J were amongst others who enjoyed the show most. You can watch it below (via u/verse1230)

The 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, including Detroit inductee Eminem, has just made its broadcast debut.

The four-hour hall of fame show premiered at 8 p.m. Saturday on HBO, with an immediate re-airing at midnight. The program is also now available for streaming on HBO Max.

Eminem was among this year’s seven major rock-hall inductees, alongside Dolly Parton, Duran Duran, Pat Benatar, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon and the Eurythmics. The program, featuring performances and tributes, was taped November 5, 2022 for a star-filled crowd at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater.

Eminem was inducted by his longtime producer, collaborator and mentor Dr. Dre, and was joined by D12’s Denaun Porter for a performance medley. Slim Shady then accepted his induction with a speech rattling off more than 100 hip-hop acts who inspired his music.

The live performance is not yet available on free streaming services but some clips already started to surface on the net. One of them includes a reaction from Olivia Rodrigo when Eminem invited Steven Tyler to perform “Sing For The Moment.”
