Rae Sremmurd talk sampling “Stan” & Listening to Eminem growing up

Rae Sremmurd have recently sat down with Bootleg Kev to promote their new album “Sremm 4 Life,” which includes long-awaited Eminem‘s “Stan”-sampled single “Not So Bad (Leans Gone Cold).”

“We just get the clearance man. Shout out to everybody. It’s not easy process. It’s not just one person. It’s not just Dido. We just recently got the clearance and it’s was perfect timing for the album. It’s a turn up song. I feel like world formed that song because it was some viral stuff going on when I sung it the world just been playing it. They wanted the version with the beat so the world really produced that song. Fans produced that song.” said Swae Lee.

Then the host asked the Mississippi duo if they were listening to Eminem when growing up on which they both instantly replied ‘yeah! for sure!’

“That was definitely my favorite rapper. I used to try to rap like him at one point in a time, in my life. I was young. I was super Eminem fan. We had a video where it was like 100 of him. He was really controversial. He was tight.” said Slim Jxmmi.
