Aries Spears on new Eminem album: “If he’s not in your top 10, you are insane”

Stand-up comedian, impressionist, and actor Aries Spears has recently sat down with DJ VLAD for an interview where the two briefly talked about Eminem‘s place in the top rappers list.

“Of course it’s all subjective. You ain’t gotta say he’s your favorite MC but I think to not put him in the top 10, even if he’s number 10, I think that’s insane. When you really look at his lyrical ability, metaphors, punchlines, double entendres, and the skill in which it takes to rap how can you say he’s not one of the most skillful dudes in the game?” said Aries Spears.

Then Aries Spears commented on Dr. Dre saying that no other rapper can touch Eminem:  “There are guys who can touch him. Absolutely. Nas can touch him. Jadakiss can touch him. Jay-Z can touch him. And if he was alive, Biggie can touch him. Rakim could touch him. Big Daddy Kane can touch him. But let’s not lie to each other, there are people out there who just not accept a white guy playing in a black genre and being just as good or better than some other black guys. Some of the militant brothers just ain’t gonna allow that. And they gonna hold against him.” said Aries Spears.

Then he continued: “Eminem is one of the top five. He is in my top five but [generally] with the five to ten, he’s definitely there, I couldn’t put him any less than ten… [Dr. Dre said that because…] A white boy who’s that dope, there is an extra shine on it. It’s like If I own 15 tigers and one of them is white, what stands out? The other 14? It’s a great example because it’s rare. Those other tons on white rappers, are they even close to be as good as Eminem? Eminem is number one and then there is huge gap. Who really out there as a white rapper is in Eminem’s rearview mirror? [Mac Miller, Machine Gun Kelly, Jack Harlow] all of them are not even close, remotely.”

“My top 5 in no particular order is JAY-Z, Jadakiss, Nas, Biggie, Eminem. Damn good list! All spitters!” – Aries Spears added. You can watch the entire interview below:

In response Dr. Umar, fans unveil list of donations Eminem has made through the years

During a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Pan-Africanist motivational speaker, Dr. Umar Johnson expressed his resentment over Eminem’s Greatest Of All Time status and accused Eminem for not helping black community by building schools and hospitals.

“No non-African can ever be the best of anything African. It is an insult to the ancestors. It’s an insult to the race and it is an insult to every Black person. Do you think I can go to Palestine and be the best of anything of Palestinian culture? You never see that. You think I can go to Israel and be the best of anything in Israel whether it be a cook, an instrumentalist, a dancer? Hell no. We have to stop naming non-African people as being the best of any aspect in our cultural product because it’s an insult. I can acknowledge Eminem’s talent but for you to put him at the top, that’s white supremacy bro. I don’t see Eminem building schools and hospitals. I don’t see DJ Khaled building schools and hospitals. I don’t see DJ Vlad doing none of them.” – said Dr. Umar.

In response to him, @OIIie_X account on X, pulled off the official documents of Eminem’s donations to the community through the years which includes donations for impoverished kids, people with drug abuse and mental illness, preventing gun violence, contribute to music education, etc. Eminem never talks about any of these donations. He never advertises it. You don’t see him boasting about it.

In 2002, Eminem’s The Marshall Mather Foundation donated $23,500.
In 2003: $97,500

DJ Vlad also responded to Dr. Umar by sharing a flashback video from 2016, where Dr. Umar Johnson offered his thoughts on education and the African American community, as well as his plans to open up his own school. In the tweet, Vlad captioned: “Dr. Umar Johnson Took Donations for School 7 Years Ago, Still Hasn’t Opened.”

DJ VLAD says he discovered Eminem before Dr. Dre | Says he wants 3-hour long interview with Eminem

DJ VLAD has recently sat down on bomb1st where he revealed that an interview with Eminem is the interview that he always wanted to do the most.

“I mean, I always felt like an Eminem interview. Like, me and Eminem being roughly the same age, having roughly the same background, having roughly the same experiences. I mean, I didn’t grow up in trailer homes but I did grow up in projects in Springfield, Massachusetts and sort of this love of hip-hop and being white.” said VLAD.

Then he continued: “I discovered Eminem before Dre did cause I’ve been hip-hop kid since elementary school. I remember this website called Sandbox Automatic which basically sold an independent vinyl. This was like ’96-’97. And I remember they had The Slim Shady EP. There was a lot of buzz over this new white kid from Detroit. I remember I bought it. I bought the CD. I remember driving around in it in the bay and listening to it, letting my friends listen to it. I remember one of my homies was like ‘nah man, black people ain’t gonna f–k with this.’ but then Dre found him and boom and he’s a superstar. But I discovered Eminem before Dre and Jimmy Iovine and all these people. I was very early on that train. And I knew right away how talented he was and how much better he was than anyone else.”

“I remember I religiously followed every guest appearance he had, on Da Ruckus and you know, Bad Meets Evil and everything else. I really followed his career closely. So, saying that, I think me and Em could sit down like 3 hours, it would be the biggest interview he has ever done. Easy! Easy! The biggest interview he has ever done would be me and him because of what I do and who he is. I don’t think there is anyone that could sit down with him and pull off what I can pull off. But we have never been remotely close to an Eminem interview. I was in the same kind of outside area with him one time. Never spoken. But he knows who I am. He has referenced one of my Lord Jamar’s interviews in one of his songs so he knows who I am. But I’ve never been in the same room. That’d be an interview that I always wanted to do. But I don’t know if its gonna happen or not.” VLAD added.

Later, in the comment section of the video, VLAD explained the meaning of the word ‘discovered.’ He said: “The title is a bit misleading. If you watch the interview, I just said I was listening to Eminem’s music a while before he got signed to Dre. I was never in a position to sign him or anything like that, which people associate with the term “discovered”.”

DJ Vlad discusses why Eminem is allowed at Super Bowl after calling Tyler The Creator the ‘f- word’

Faizon Love has recently set down with DJ Vlad for an interview where the two talked about many things, including ‘cancel culture.’

DJ Vlad agrees to people who complain about why the cancel culture fired NFL’s Raiders coach Jon Gruden over the emails in which he used sexist, homophobic and transphobic language but Eminem is allowed to perform at NFL’s Halftime Show after calling Tyler The Creator the f- word in a song “Fall,” from Kamikaze album, released in 2018.

“What people now are pointing out when they are talking about NFL is, for example, at Halftime Show there’s gonna be Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem and as recent as 2018 Eminem was saying fa**ot in his verses. He is rapping ‘Tyler The Creator I see why you call yourself a fa**ot, b**ch’ and this is recent Eminem. This is not 1998 Eminem. No, this is recent Eminem, so you are going to fire this coach over an old emails that was way before 2018 but Eminem could perform at NFL Halftime show, saying the f- word in a recent song and that’s okay. It’s a bit of slippery slope. This is weird ass cancel culture.”

“YouTube took down two of R. Kelly’s channels because of his conviction. So you gonna tell me that anyone that is convicted of something can’t be on YouTube? You gotta take down anyone with criminal record? Where is it going with this?” says DJ Vlad
