Britney Spears mentions Eminem’s “Kim” in her new book

Britney Spears has recently released her much-anticipated memoir, “The Woman in Me,” which sold 1.1 million copies in all formats in the United States in its first week on sale, the book’s publisher, Gallery Books, announced on Wednesday.

The early sales number puts Spears’s book in the ballpark of some of the best-selling celebrity memoirs in recent years. In the same time frame, Prince Harry’s memoir sold 1.6 million copies in the United States, while that of Mary Trump, former president Donald J. Trump’s niece, sold 1.4 million when it debuted in 2020.

As Google Books describes: In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.

Surprisingly, there is a mention of Eminem and his ex-wife in the book. You can read the paragraph below:

The thought of me betraying him gave the album more angst, gave it a purpose: s–t-talking an unfaithful woman. The hip-hop world of that era loved a storyline with the theme ‘F–k you, b–ch!’ Getting revenge on women for perceived disrespect was all the rage at that time. Eminem’s violent revenge song “Kim” was huge. The only problem with the narrative was that, in our case, it wasn’t like that.” – Britney Spears.

“Kim” is a song by Eminem that appears on his 2000 classic album The Marshall Mathers LP. The song reflects intense anger and hatred toward his then-wife Kim Mathers and features Eminem imitating her voice, and ends with him murdering her and later putting her body in the trunk of his car.

“Kim” was the first song Eminem recorded for the album, shortly after finishing work on The Slim Shady LP in late 1998. He wrote it, along with “’97 Bonnie & Clyde” (where Eminem and his daughter go to the lake to dispose of Kim’s dead body), when he and Kim were having relationship problems and Kim was preventing him from seeing his daughter Hailie. Despite its controversial graphic content, it is often highlighted as one of Eminem’s most memorable songs.

Gwen Stefani says she felt the same way as Britney Spears when Eminem hit Super Bowl stage

Couple of days ago, Britney Spears took to Instagram to give a special shout-out to Eminem after the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime show performance.

“Wow!!! Eminem last night at the Super Bowl…he should have had way more time…he was everything to me when I was younger and it was so weird in the first two seconds I saw him onstage last night I felt like I was 17 again!! It’s honestly kinda scary how certain artists and music can do that…we are so lucky to live in a world where music can give us hope…identity…acceptance…and love!!!” !” Spears wrote in her post while sharing a video clip of Eminem’s set.

Gwen Stefan, who has previously worked with Eminem on a song “Kings Never Die,” responded in the comments: “Feel you,” with hands held high emoji.

Britney Spears shows Eminem love after Super Bowl: “He was everything to me when I was younger”

Yesterday, Eminem made Detroit proud one more time as he performed with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige at the biggest stage in the world, the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show at SoFi Stadium.

It’s seems Slim Shady’s performance brought nostalgic feelings to Britney Spears as she penned a beautiful message to Eminem while sharing his set:

“Wow!!! Eminem last night at the Super Bowl… He should have had way more time… He was everything to me when I was younger and it was so weird in the first two seconds I saw him on stage last night I felt like I was 17 again!!! It’s honestly kinda scary how certain artists and music can do that… We are so lucky to live in a world where music can give us hope… Identity.. Acceptance and love.” said Britney.

Charlamagne says Future, 6ixN9ne, Young Thug & Britney Spears would wash Eminem in Verzuz

On The Brilliant Idiots with Andrew Schultz, Charlamagne Tha God talks about Eminem’s chances in Verzuz battle.

“Eminem gets washed in any Verzuz bro. Em don’t have songs like that. Em can rap and we like Eminem as a rapper. Future washes Eminem in Verzuz. 6ixN9ne would wash him too, depending on the generation. Em don’t got nothing that slaps like GUMMO to these kids. Young Thug washes Eminem in a Verzuz. I can name twenty rappers that washes Eminem in Verzuz.”

“Em falls in the same category as somebody like Kendrick Lamar and I think Kendrick would perform better in Verzuz. Em doesn’t have Verzuz type songs. Imagine Verzuz where he plays ‘Stan.’ Britney Spears washes Eminem in a Verzuz bro. Britney gets Eminem f**k out of here.” – says Charlmagne
