Charlie Puth names Eminem’s “The Real Slim Shady” one of the greatest songs of all time Posted on January 22, 2026 By Remy Gelenidze Charlie Puth is gearing up for the release of his upcoming album, Whatever’s Clever and to promote it, in a new chat with Rolling Stone magazine, he was asked to name five greatest songs ever written.“Five greatest songs ever written? I think, “Juicy” by The Notorious B.I.G., “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith, written by Dianne Warren. I think, “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head” by Burt Bacharach. I’m just taking a second because I know the internet lives forever… When I heard Eminem’s “The Real Slim Shady,” produced by Dr. Dre, the snare drum blew me away on that. And probably “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls.” said Charlie Puth. “It’s so subjective and I’m sure I didn’t even mention a James Taylor song, so if I were to do an honorary mention, I’d say “Something In The Way She Moves.”” Charlie Puth added.Few years back, Charlie Puth revealed that The Eminem Show is a major influence on his production style, particularly when it comes to drums. The singer and producer said that listening to Eminem’s 2002 album makes his primary inspiration for the drum patterns he uses across every song he produces. Puth’s comment highlights the lasting impact of the Dr. Dre–helmed project and how its crisp, hard-hitting percussion continues to shape modern pop production decades later.
