Fat Joe has recently sat with LL Cool J for a discussion about his road to success on a new episode of his weekly interview series, “Fat Joe Talks,” on STARZ.
During the 30 minutes conversation, the two hip-hop icons briefly talked about the relationship with Eminem.
Fat Joe: [The fact that you want to be yourself and copy no one] We respect that and we love that. That’s the only way you’ll get somebody like Eminem, the biggest streamer in the universe, to shoot a video and do a song with you cause he respects you as an artist. Tell me about that relationship between you and Eminem cause I feel like I got the best relationship with you but I’m starting getting in my feelings. Cause this man right here, I’ve seen him big you up when he won Hall Of Fame. I seen him always big you up. LL Cool J: He’s amazing. We got a great rapport. We are friends. He does [look up to me]. We have that love for hip-hop in common.

“Murdergram Deux” is a song by LL Cool J, released on August 30, 2024 as the fourth single from his fourteenth studio album The FORCE. The sequel to his song “Murdergram” (1990), it features Eminem. The song is produced by Q-Tip, with Eminem providing additional production. It contains samples of “Donna’s Dilemma” by Anthony King and “Going Back to Cali” by LL Cool J.
“Murdergram Deux” finds LL Cool J and Eminem rapping back-and-forth verses in rapid-paced delivery over skittering production. Eminem uses his trademark wordplay, and ends the song with references to his song “Crack a Bottle” and LL Cool J’s “Going Back to Cali”.
An official music video premiered on September 11, 2024. It was filmed in Detroit in late August and directed by JakeTheShooter. In the visual, LL Cool J recreates the cover of his album Bigger and Deffer (in the opening scene), as well as the cover of the story “Live From Death Row” from Vibe (1996) with Eminem, who later remakes the cover of the album Long Live the Kane by Big Daddy Kane. They recreate the black-and-white fishbowl scene from LL Cool J’s “Going Back to Cali” video as well. The two also rap in front of walls covered in graffiti and speakers, including a colorful mural by New York artist Shirt King Phade.
In the behind the scenes video, Eminem expresses his astonishment about LL still owning the car he had on Bigger and Deffer album cover: “It’s so crazy that you still have it.” said Eminem. Watch the full video below. You can spot Denaun Porter too.
Two iconic rappers have come together for a new song and music video. At the end of the August, LL Cool J finally released his collaboration with Eminem, “Murdergram Deux,” ahead of the release of his new album, titled The FORCE, which dropped on September 6, 2024.
“Unapologetic and we’re gonna cause a headache. Me and L about to set it, we about to murdergram it/Anyone of y’all can get it,” raps Eminem on the bridge before LL Cool J comes in: “So you might as well forget it/Either way you will regret it, cemetery’s where you’re headed.”
While this marks LL Cool J and Eminem’s first ever collaboration on a song together, they performed “Going Back To Cali” and “Rock The Bells” at the Rock Hall of Fame ceremony back in 2021. “Murdergram Deux” is the forth single from LL’s new project and the music video is also out.
LL Cool J and Eminem took fans back in time as they recreated some memorable moments for their “Murdergram Deux” music video, which was released on Wednesday (Sept. 11, 2024). The two traveled to Detroit to pack on the nostalgia for the JakeTheShooter-directed video clip. The New York legend steps back into 1987 to remake the Bigger and Deffer (BAD) album cover art nearly four decades later.
LL puts a modern twist on his “Going Back to Cali” visual while stepping into the black-and-white fishbowl scene with his signature bucket hat. But it’s Eminem who gets the emperor treatment as he pays homage to Big Daddy Kane ’s “Long Live the Kane” album cover. The pair also salutes Death Row’s legendary VIBE cover from 1996.
One of the girls who appeared in the scene with Eminem as an emperor, shared a video of her father reacting to her appearance. “IS THAT YOU? SHUT THE F–K UP!” excited father screams while daughter laughs behind the cameras. You can check the video below which was originally posted by the model herself, Trinity_Nery on TikTok.

“This next song is a joint I did with Eminem, it’s called ‘Murdergram Deux.’ I had a song on ‘Mama Said Knock You Out’ called ‘Murdergram’ so I said, you know what? We gon’ do a song together and when Q-Tip made the beat, I was sitting there and he was playing that beat and I was like ‘yo, Tip, this is crazy, me and Em would be crazy on this.’ He’s like ‘YEAH! Definitely big bro.’ So, I called Em and I’m like ‘yo, I think I got a joint.’ He’s like ‘sent it to me’. I sent him the song just to hear the beat, once he heard the beat and he agreed to do it then we went to the studio and what we actually did was, me and Em actually went to Dr. Dre’s studio and recorded it out in LA.” said LL Cool J.
Then he continued: “We went together in the studio. And the way the process was: I would write my rhyme. Then I would lay it. He would come in, he would hear it, I would leave. He would write his rhyme. He would record. And we went back and forth in the booth without seeing each other record until we did the very last thing together, where I kinda come together with him a little bit.” You can watch the interview below:
Hip-hop icon LL Cool J is finally back. The legendary rapper has released his first new album in 11 years. Not only that, but LL has aggressively promoted the album by doing interviews and podcast appearances. It feels like the New York spitter has more passion harnessed into The FORCE than he did his previous effort, Exit 13. He certainly has more guest features. The FORCE has a staggering lineup of artists from multiple eras of hip-hop. It’s a testament to LL Cool J’s reputation that he could take a decade off, then come back and secure features from the likes of Nas, Snoop Dogg and Eminem.
LL previously dropped the lead single “Saturday Night Special,” featuring Rick Ross and Fat Joe, which remains a standout track, alongside to “Murdergram Deux,” featuring Eminem, which about the have a music video too.
“I just filmed a video of me and Eminem for Murdegram Deux, which is Murdergram part two. And one of the things, there’s a mural in it, and on the mural it says ‘death to the ego.’ Murdergram Deux, death to the ego. Cause it’s really about MCing of it all. It’s not about the ego, it’s not about who’s got money, nothing wrong with money, I like it a lot, who’s got business success, it’s not about any of that, death to the ego! It’s about rhyming, skills, bars, beats.” said LL Cool J during a recent interview.
Then he continued: “It’s pure hip-hop. Pure hip-hop and Em is a fan of pure hip-hop, as am I. So, us working together on that record, it was dope. And the fact that me and him have that song on vinyl, it’s just so dope. But it comes from, like you said, death to the ego, the mural is amazing, it’s dope and I think the video was a lot of fun. You know, hip-hop, baby!”
This week, hip-hop icon LL Cool J will release The FORCE album, his first project in 11 years. Fellow Queens rap legend Q-Tip serves as the album’s executive producer, and it’s got guest features from heavy-spitters like Nas, Busta Rhymes, and Snoop Dogg. LL already dropped the lead single titled “Saturday Night Special,” with Rick Ross and Fat Joe. Few days ago, the Eminem collaboration arrived.
Eminem has always been a huge, vocal LL Cool J fan, and their new song “Murdergram Deux” is their first-ever collaboration. Slim Shady co-produced “Murdergram Deux” with Q-Tip, and the song is explicitly positioned as a sequel to “Murdergram,” the fast-rap workout that appeared as a deep cut on LL’s classic 1990 album Mama Said Knock You Out. On the new song, LL and Eminem take turns displaying athletic rap feats over the nervously jittery beat. At the very end of the song, Eminem quotes LL’s old song “Going Back To Cali.”
During a recent interview, LL confirmed that they already shot a music video too: “I just filmed a video of me and Eminem for Murdegram Deux, which is Murdergram part two. And one of the things, there’s a mural in it, and on the mural it says ‘death to the ego.’ Murdergram Deux, death to the ego. Cause it’s really about MCing of it all. You know, hip-hop, baby!”
Later in the interview, LL confirmed that they didn’t record the song in Detroit in Eminem’s studio: “Me and Em actually did a song in Dr. Dre’s studio in LA. We went to Dre’s studio. Shout out to my man Dre, that’s my man.” You can watch the interview below:

The entire “Muerdergram Deux” song was leaked few months ago. In a recent interview, LL Cool J addressed the fact and revealed that the song was not a final version: “That’s terrible man, it’s so bad. It’s not AI but it’s not official. It’s not the right version. They just be over the top and people just be dabbling and… I don’t even know why even do that. It’s like, calm down man. They all just walking on in kitchen, touching the rolls before before the s–t is done and you know just all up in the pots. Keep the food ain’t ready. You know how your grandmother slap your hand and s–t when you trying to put your hands in the pots early? That’s how I feel about this. Just cut that s–t. But it is what it is, it’s not AI, it’s a real joint.” said LL Cool J.

I think honestly and sincerely that Q-Tip as a producer is unbelievable and what he did on this record for me, I think is amazing. So the world will decide. The album, I think, is really, really special. I think it’s something it’s modern without chasing. It’s a whole new thing. I can’t wait for the people to see it.”
Eminem has named LL Cool J as his biggest influence numerous times. The two have recently performed at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony. LL and Slim Shady also have a song in vault that has never seen the light of the day.
