Jake Bass teases Linkin Park & Eminem collaboration

Jake Bass, who has recently became a touring member of D12, playing guitar with them internationally, tweeted a picture of himself in the studio with Draven Sebastian Bennington, a son of lead vocalist of Linkin Park, late Chester Bennington, who is also a musician, dropping his debut single last year.

In the caption, Jake Bass wrote: “When two worlds collide… 2nd Generation!!! Y’all ain’t ready for this music!!! @dravenbstudios @linkinpark @eminem #DravenBennington #JakeBass #LinkinPark #Eminem #BocaJMusic #BassmentSounds,” hinting on Linkin Park and Eminem collaboration song? Or maybe a remix or something?

Last year, Draven Bennington also posted a picture with Jake Bass, who is a son of Jeff Bass of Bass Brothers, with the caption: “There are no amount of words to express how amazing last week was! I’m still buzzing off all the energy! Thank you so much @mrjakebass @fbt_studios for taking me in open arms and letting me make magic with you guys! I can’t wait to come back out there soon! Motown here we come! Also thank you so much to the amazing artists @lazdetroit and @aproposmusic you guys are so supportive and helpful and make me feel right at home in the studio! I can’t wait to see what we collab on!

One fan on X commented: “Eminem // Linkin Park collab ????? Granted this would’ve been way bigger in like 2004 I’m still excited for that mashup.” Another said: “It’s crazy cause Linkin Park and Eminem are my all time favourites. Meteora is actually my fav album ever.” Someone on reddit said: “Teenage me would s–t a brick.” Another said: “Please delete this whole thread. Lol. As a LP fan, it is most definitely Chester’s son and he is an awful artist who has been trying get some clout for his s–tty songs by dragging his dad or Linkin Park’s name into it. His mom is Chester’s ex-wife who sued Chester’s estate for child support and royalties like 3 months after he died. Draven here hates the rest of Chester’s family and the rest of Linkin Park as well. He’s 21 now so he can take the heat.” Someone replied: “After a quick mental breakdown I realized Jake is just clout chasing and worked on some music with Chester’s son 🙁 Nothing to do with Em or LP.

Couple of months ago, Linkin Park’s co-lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, keyboardist, primary songwriter and producer Mike Shinoda talked about possible Eminem collaboration during his question and answer session on Twitch: “Am I gonna collab with Eminem? Probably not. I think Eminem is incredible but it’s not on to-do list. Do I want to battle Eminem? You mean imagine me like a toddler getting blown up by a nuclear weapon? Eminem is the greatest freestyle rapper, greatest battle rapper of all time. I don’t give a s–t what anybody says.”

In November 2016, Jake and F.B.T. Productions co-produced and performed the instrumentation on the 20th anniversary remix of Eminem’s 1996 debut single “Infinite”, and produced the mini-documentary Partners In Rhyme: The True Story of Infinite. The single, available for the first time digitally, entered Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart at No. 9 with 28,000 downloads sold in its first week. The remix also entered the Digital Song Sales chart at No. 21, the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at No. 37, the Spotify Viral 50 chart at No. 47 and The Hot 100 at No. 97.

Jake Bass celebrates 25-year anniversary of Eminem’s “SSLP” with an iconic picture

To celebrate 25 years anniversary of Eminem‘s major label debut album The Slim Shady LP, producer, composer and music engineer, Jake Bass, who is also a son of legendary Jeff Bass from Bass Brothers, dedicated a post to Slim Shady on social media.

Jake Bass shared a picture of Eminem’s “The Slim Shady LP” and “My Name Is” covers displayed on huge billboard which he took in California. In the caption, he wrote: “25 YEARS!!! February 23rd, 1999 was the release of The Slim Shady LP by @eminem and the day I took this photo in Cali!!! It was the craziest feeling seeing the WEB logo on a billboard in Hollywood!!! No one knew what would end up happening, but a week later, after charting at Number 2, our world and THE world was changed forever.”

The Slim Shady LP debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, just below TLC’s FanMail album, and No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It was a critical and commercial success, with critics praising Eminem for his unique lyrical style, dark humor lyrics, and unusual personality. The first single, “My Name Is”, became Eminem’s first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. The album won Best Rap Album at the 2000 Grammy Awards, while “My Name Is” won Best Rap Solo Performance. In 2000, The Slim Shady LP was certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It is often mentioned in lists of the greatest albums of all time.

Jake Bass officially joined the “family business” working for FBT Productions in 2004, the caliber of which artists like Eminem and other fine artists made their very beginnings or early successes.

In November 2016, Jake and F.B.T. Productions co-produced and performed the instrumentation on the 20th anniversary remix of Eminem’s 1996 debut single “Infinite”, and produced the mini-documentary Partners In Rhyme: The True Story of InfiniteThe single, available for the first time digitally, entered Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart at No. 9 with 28,000 downloads sold in its first week. Jake Bass recalls recording process of Eminem’s “Kim”

In a new interview with Mcdontstop, composer, producer and music engineer Jake Bass, who is a son of legendary Jeff Bass from Bass Brothers, talked about the making process of Eminem’s “Kim” song from his 2000 classic album The Marshall Mathers LP.

“That’s the record my dad and uncle did and fun fact, that was the first song I ever learned how to play on piano. That song, that was done out in California. Same around the time they were doing all the Slim Shady stuff and starting to put together the next record before they all moved back home to Detroit. That was a record that Em had come in one day with really bad attitude and pissed off and everything.” – said Jake Bass.

Then he continued: “When he was working with my dad he would always come into the studio with a mood and obviously that mood was dark, angry, sad. My dad didn’t know it was going to be twisted at the same time at that moment but he knew I want something that’s f–king dark and scary so my dad would sit down at keyboard like this ‘no, try going darker, okay, like this, maybe deeper, okay, like this, no, maybe a piano,’ and then, my dad would just whip ideas out and he started playing that piano lick and that was it. Loop that, my uncle played drums on it which was f–king awesome. Everyone thinks it’s a sample and it’s not! Everyone thinks it’s f–king Led Zeppelin sample but it’s not. It’s all real. And Em did vocals in one take. That entire session was 30 minutes. They put that together quick. And it was like, OH MY GOD, he painted an entire picture and he put together a whole f–king movie in 6 minutes. They knew it was something special.

“Working with my dad and uncle at that time especially it had to be that way at that time because that’s a very personal, very vulnerable record. And he worked with my family for many many years before that so it was a comfortable setting to scream like that and play both characters. It was very much Slim Shady. That was something that he was able to be vulnerable with in the studio with my dad and uncle. And you have to be putting record like that and to produced a record like that, you have to tap in, you know.” Jake Bass added.
