Snoop Dogg talks making “Gunz N Smoke” with 50 Cent & Eminem

Snoop Dogg has recently sat down with DJ Whoo Kid to promote his new album “Missionary” with Dr. Dre. At one point of the interview, the West Coast legend talked about “Gunz N Smoke” song, which is on his new album and features 50 Cent and Eminem.

“Getting them [50 Cent and Eminem] on a record meant a lot. I wanted him and Eminem on. And Dre wanted them on. It was the first that that everyone agreed that was the perfect song everybody to get on. Let’s get it done. And 50 went first. He knocked his s–t out first which made it hard for me because I had to come behind him. And then Eminem. He always just kills s–t. He don’t give a f–k who’s before him. You just better not go after him.”

“When I rap with Eminem. I know I gotta be the f–k way up cause this ni–a ain’t playing. He makes you go hard. He’s the type of ni–a that when you finish the song he gon’ go back and change and do four more bars. I was like ‘n-gga you cheating man.’ Why you get four more bars? You motherf–ker you already cut my head off and now you going with four more bars? Goddamn it Marshall, you bad mothef–ker. I’m glad you on my team.”

DJ Whoo Kid also revealed that he has an Eminem interview coming. You can watch Snoop’s interview below:

Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre’s “Missionary” album first week projections are in!

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre‘s Missionary album is set to debut next week’s US Billboard 200 chart and its not going to be on high place as we were probably expecting.

According to HITSDailyDouble, the much-anticipated album from the iconic West Coast duo is projected to earn just 36,000 equivalent units in its first week. With that number, the project will likely debut at number 20 on the Billboard 200, behind previously-released rap albums such as Tyler, The Creator‘s Chromakopia and Kendrick Lamar‘s GNX.

If the forecast is accurate, Missionary would be one of Snoop’s least commercially successful albums and by far Dre’s worst performing release, even though album includes some heavyweight features like Eminem, 50 Cent, Sting and Jelly Roll. Snoop has dropped a series of low-selling projects in recent years, with Bible of Love, Algorithm and Bacc on Death Row all struggling to crack the top 100 on the Billboard 200.

Dre (who produced Missionary but isn’t technically billed as a lead artist) has never debuted outside of the top 10 or sold less than 200,000 first-week units. Despite this, the N.W.A legend has heaped high praise on Missionary in terms of its quality, calling it one of the best efforts of his decorated career.

Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg release “Missionary” short film

Snoop Dogg has dropped Missionary, his highly anticipated Dr. Dre-produced new album. The 16 song project features Eminem, 50 Cent, BJ The Chicago Kid, Coco Sarai, Method Man, Sting, K.A.A.N., Jelly Roll, Alus, and Jhene Aiko. Dr. Dre hasn’t produced a full Snoop project since 1993’s Doggystyle, Snoop’s full length debut. Snoop and Dre’s reunion hits hard sonically, with Dre’s signature crisp drums and orchestrated production, and Snoop’s updated rhyme flow.

Some of the album’s highlights are the songs with featured MC’s. “Skyscrapers” sees Method Man shine as usual. On a recent Drink Champs episode Meth spoke of the collaboration. “Every time I work with Dre I feel like I need a do over. The first time that I spit a verse with him, it wasn’t up to par for me, and Dre was gracious enough not to put it put, even though it leaked anyway. The next shot I got is for [Missionary]. He got a lotta fire s–t on that joint, and still feel I could have did a little bit more, but I’m always gonna feel like that.”

“Gunz N Smoke” features 50 Cent spitting a triplet styled verse, and Eminem delivering a memorable multi syllabic verse. Other standouts include “Outta Da Blue”, “Gorgeous”, and “Now Or Never”.

Snoop and Dre also dropped the Missionary short film, which features a full script starring Dre and Snoop with cameos from 50 Cent, Jhene Aiko and narration by Method Man. There is also a dead body in the film that wears Eminem Air Jordan’s. Watch it below:

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre dropped their highly-anticipated Missionary album under Death Row Records, Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records. It features previously released singles “Gorgeous” (featuring Jhené Aiko), “Outta da Blue” (featuring Alus) and “Another Part of Me” (featuring Sting). “Gorgeous” helped the iconic West Coast hip-hop duo return to Billboard‘s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart for the first time in 13 years when the song debuted at No. 29 last month (it later peaked at No. 26).

The 15-track project also features other collaborations with BJ the Chicago Kid (“Fore Play” and “Now or Never”), Tom Petty and Jelly Roll (“Last Dance with Mary Jane”), K.A.A.N. (“Pressure” and “Sticky Situation”), Method Man and Smitty (“Skyscrapers”), Cocoa Sarai (“Fire” and “Sticky Situation”), 50 Cent and Eminem (“Gunz n Smoke”), and Dem Jointz, Stalone and Fat Money (“Gangsta Pose”).

It’s their first full-length project together since Snoop’s 1993 Doggystyle debut studio album, which topped both the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Its Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit single, “Gin and Juice,” earned a nomination for best rap solo performance at the 1995 Grammy Awards.

Missionary is also the first project Snoop has put out since 2022, when he released his 19th studio album BODR (Bacc On Death Row) and the debut album of the West Coast rap supergroup Mount Rushmore (Snoop, E-40, Too Short and Ice Cube), Snoop Cube 40 $hort. You can stream the album below:

Eminem and 50 Cent are featured on a song titled “Gunz N Smoke” which is co-produced by C.S. Armstrong. In the song Eminem once again brings forth his “rap persona,” Slim Shady, to contrast his rebellious, unrestrained alter ego with his more mature and composed self by showing how Slim Shady would act in similar circumstances: “Comin’ up? So like that syrup, they canceled / I’ma say, “F–k you and your momma,” then blame my rap persona…F–k around and buck these h-es, ain’t talkin’ no luxury clothes / Two nines I tuck, see those? Like Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, try and duck deez, yo / Hey, what the f–k you want? Didn’t I just see you yesterday? F–k outta here, f–k it, b–ch.” Em raps.

Furthermore, Em’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 stands as one of his most significant and prestigious accomplishments as a rapper…You can stream the song below:

Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre drop “Missionary” album trailer

Last Friday, Snoop Dogg released a new track titled “Another Part of Me” featuring iconic singer Sting, produced by Dr. Dre and The ICU via Death Row, Aftermath and Interscope. The track appears on Snoop’s new album “Missionary,” entirely produced by Dre, due December 13.

Snoop and Dre’s “Missionary” marks their second time completing a full body of work together since Snoop’s 1994 classic debut album ‘Doggystyle.’ The album includes features from Eminem, 50 Cent, Jelly Roll, Method Man, the late Tom Petty, Jhené Aiko and more, according to the news release.

“After 30 years, believe it or not, man, this is our first time working on an album in 30 years,” Dr. Dre told Complex. “I did ‘Doggystyle’ for him 30 years ago. We’ve done things in between, a song here and there and did shows and s–t, but this is the first time that we got together and worked on an entire album in 30 years. I feel like it’s some of the best music I’ve ever made and I’m really proud of it.”

Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre drop “Another Part of Me” ft. Sting

Snoop Dogg ‘s new single “Another Part of Me” from his much-anticipated upcoming Dr. Dre-produced album Missionary takes major inspiration from the Police‘s 1979 single “Message in A Bottle,” using a sampled or replayed version of Andy Summers’ guitar line and part of the melody — as well as fresh vocals from former Police frontman, legendary singer Sting.

“Me and Snoop Dogg made a recording of ‘Message In A Bottle’, which he’s called something else. I played the guitar and I sang on it, but Snoop also sings on this, which is quite a revelation to me. Snoop is a very nice man.” Sting recently told BBC Radio 2. “

Snoop’s confident singing is just as prominent as his rapping on the track (produced by Dre and the ICU), and Sting fits seamlessly alongside him, adopting some of Snoop’s flow into his own part. At one point, the two vocalists even nail a harmony together.

“We hung out and we chilled. Like a child that’s infatuated with somebody as a singer, and you get a chance to meet them and they give you everything you expected. That’s what happens with me all the time: I meet people I’ve always wanted to meet and they’re everything I wanted them to be.” Snoop recently said of his time with Sting.

Missionary will drop December 13, 2024, a date that also marks the 30th anniversary of Snoop Dogg’s Dre-produced debut, Doggystyle. “We were kids at that timeSnoop may have been like 18 or 19 years old, and I’m, I think, I’m six years older than him… This one is gonna show a different level of maturity with his lyrics and with my music.” Dre said in August. The record also features Eminem and 50 Cent. Listen to the new single below and make sure to grab the album on Dec. 13:

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre drop “Outta Da Blue” single

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have officially dropped off their latest “Missionary” album single, “Outta Da Blue,” which unofficially surfaced online last month.

Clocking in at just over two-and-a-half minutes, the cut is produced by Dre alongside Dem Jointz, BoogzDaBeast and FNZ, and features Alus as a guest feature. “Outta Da Blue” follows the release of “Gorgeous” featuring Jhené Aiko, with both set to appear on their “Doggystyle” (1993) followup, “Missionary.”

The dynamic duo’s upcoming album is dropping 31 years after its predecessor and marks the pair’s second full body of work together. Joining Alus and Aiko on the record are Eminem, 50 Cent, Jelly Roll, Method Man, Sting, the late Tom Petty and more. “This one’s gonna show a different level of maturity with his lyrics and with my music,” Dre previously said. “I feel like this is some of the best music I’ve done in my career… I’m not playing.” He continued, “The musicians I’m working with right now and some of the writers in the studio that are helping us… Snoop is really excited about this and so am I. I think people are gonna really enjoy this.”

Snoop Dogg reveals tracklist of “Missionary” album, prod by Dr. Dre

Snoop Dogg has finally announced the release date for his much anticipated new album “Missionary,” produced entirely by the one and only Dr. Dre.

“Missionary,” which is being billed as the sequel to Snoop’s 1993 debut “Doggystyle,” is set for release on December 13, 2024. It marks the first full-length collaboration between Dre and Snoop since “Doggystyle.”

The rap icon made the announcement with a promotional video on social media where two Mormon missionaries knock on a stranger’s door, only to be met with a woman in full lingerie who tells them, “What the f–k? Your ad said you were dedicated to missionary work.”

Snoop first mentioned the album back in 2022, when he said that it would be done that November. He billed it as a “30th anniversary to ‘Doggystyle,’” which Dr. Dre produced in full. That album became the fastest-selling hip-hop album ever at the time, and has since been hailed as one of the best rap records of all-time.

Today, the tracklist and features were was unveiled. Eminem and 50 Cent appear together on a track called “Gunz N Smoke,” which is, of course, produced by Dr. Dre. You can check the full tracklist and features below.

Snoop reiterated the Sting feature earlier this month, and confirmed that Jelly Roll would also appear on the set.

Several other emcees and musicians have claimed that they’ve either heard the project or will be featured on it. 50 Cent said he’d be on the album in March, and Method Man confirmed that he would also grace the set during a “Drink Champs” interview last month. Eminem is also rumored to be on the album… Watch the trailer of the announcement below.
