West Coast legend Dr. Dre has recently joined the debut episode of interview series The Unusual Suspects With Kenya Barris and Malcolm Gladwell where he directly express which side he was going to be on in K. Dot’s feud with Drake.
During the podcast, the hip-hop icon publicly voiced his support for Lamar’s “Not Like Us” knockout blow and said he didn’t appreciate Drake speaking negatively on Kenny’s family throughout the battle.
“I love that record. I’ma say this on camera. I don’t want to get negative. My whole s–t is about being positive and moving forward and all that s–t, but the fact I heard Drake say something negative about Kendrick’s wife and his kids, that made me say, ‘Ah, adios!’”
Jelly Roll has recently sat down on FLAGRANT where he breaks down all the inside baseball of the country music charts, explains how he got features with Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly and has some hilarious behind the scenes stories from SNL and his tour.
“I always bring up Paul in interview because I feel like he never gets brought up enough. Paul Rosenberg has been Eminem’s manager since Eminem has had a manager. Lifelong, Detroit-homie kinda s–t. Really cool inception story. The cool story about Eminem is, I believe, his publicist, his assistant, he’s had like the same four people around him for his entire career.” said Jelly Roll.
Then he continued: “Eminem’s a wizard, man. He’s the biggest selling artist of our generation. He sold more records than Elvis. It’s insane when you think about how big he is. You don’t really get to see the wizard a lot. But I’ve seen a wizard now and I hung out with him. He’s f–king great guy. He’s really down to earth. He’s super honest. He’s very intentional with his words. We hung out for the video set for 12 hours. Just like, d–kng around.”
“To show his personality, he walks in my Green Room, going: “Somebody shave me, I need some Gillette…” He’s f–king funny guy. Paul has always been trying to get me and Em together. Every time I’ve seen Paul he’s like ‘If Marshall don’t understand anybody else, he’s gonna get you.’ He’s been telling me this since I was working with Yelawolf a decade ago. So Paul calls and he’s like ‘send me the Save Me record, I think Marshall wants to f–k with it.’ So, I’m like, you know how rap works? I’m getting an Eminem remix. Like, he just drops a verse one day. Whenever it comes, thank you god. That’s what I thought.”
“I had already told Kells [MGK] that story back then and Kells is a real friend, he was like ‘yo, that’s huge, keep me posted.’ He’s cheering for me at heart. This was 18 months ago. So I kinda get to the point where I thought it [Eminem remix] was not coming. I was like ‘ah, it happens.’ Then I get a call, they were closing the record. I was like ‘WHAT?’ Second singe! They wanted to shoot a video. Me and Kells already worked on two or three records together. Me and Kells are hanging out every day and suddenly this Eminem thing is real. Paul was like ‘We love Jelly’ and he never brought up Eminem’s beef with MGK.”
“My heart is always to bring them together one day cause I see so much more of them in each other than they know. I hadn’t really brought it up to Marshall yet cause I’m just kinda glad to be in that circumstance to be able to have them conversations. But I do see there is so much in them than not. I also gave Kells a perspective too like we all grew up watching Eminem take over the game early. If you get mentioned in an Eminem song, it was like getting mentioned in the comedy special. You were on f–king fire. You could not be hotter if you get mentioned in Eminem special or HBO special.”
“There are gonna get together. One day eventually. It’s inevitable. The world’s a circle. I think they are gonna find each others heart mere than they don’t. And if they never do connect that way, I think that it did more for both of them that didn’t hurt either one of them.” Jelly Roll added. You can watch the interview below:
United States president Donald Trump and his legal team are using Eminem as a reference in their recent filing to dismiss a lawsuit over the infamous January 6 riots.
In the documents obtained by AllHipHop, Trump cited a “rapper defense” to fight allegations that he incited the infamous riots at the Capitol in 2021. After losing an initial dismissal attempt, Trump is appealing, arguing his January 6 speech falls under protected political expression. His lawyers likened his rhetoric to controversial rap lyrics, citing past Supreme Court cases where violent lyrics were deemed artistic expression and not incitement.
Trump’s team didn’t explicitly mention Eminem’s name but it’s obvious they are referring to Slim Shady as the court documents read: “A rapper rockets to the top of the charts for his aggressive, provocative lyrics that become wildly popular nationwide, particularly among angsty teenagers. He is ranked as one of the most controversial lyricists of all time. Many of his lyrics describe explicit violent acts, including gun violence, r*pe, and a description of the rapper drowning his wife. While at times, the rapper’s lyrics suggest that his work is not intended to encourage or endorse actual violence, other lyrics suggest the contrary.”
It then continues: “Nothing in President Trump’s speech even came close to the far more incendiary language that the Supreme Court has held to be protected as a matter of law. President Trump’s January 6 speech…is properly characterized as ‘strong protests against the government and prevailing social order’ – a context that demands the highest deference to speech and protection from censorship.”

Couple of days ago, Hip-hop legend Redman released his new album Muddy Waters Too, the long-anticipated sequel to his classic 1996 album, Muddy Waters.
The project, which arrived on the unorthodox date of Christmas Eve, features a heavyweight roster of special guest appearances, including frequent collaborator another hip-hop icon Method Man, as well as legends like Snoop Dogg and KRS-One. The 32-track album also boasts appearances from fellow ’90s legends such as Queen Latifah, Naughty By Nature, Shaquille O’Neal, Faith Evans, Sheek Louch, Kid Capri and Rah Digga.
Behind the boards, production comes from the likes of Erick Sermon, Rockwilder, Mike & Keys, Rick Rock, Khrysis and Redman himself. Keeping alive a tradition that dates back to the very beginning of his 30-plus-year career, Muddy Waters Too continues Reggie’s flagship “Soopaman Luva” series with a seventh installment that features Melanie Rutherford.
In a song “Dynomite,” featuring Sheek Louch, Redman gives shout out to Eminem, alongside iconic Detroit producer J Dilla, with the following lines: “Brick City militant / J Dilla diligent / Blackin’ out like Eminem / These kids love my riddle and I’m back.” You can listen to the song below:
In a new Shade 45 20th Anniversary Recap Special, Eminem and Paul Rosenberg talked about Kendrick Lamar at the Grammys, collaboration album with 50 Cent, possible another Bad Meets Evil project and more.
On collab album with 50 Cent.
Eminem: That would be great, we just gotta stop bulls–ting and just do it. I would never say its not possible.
Paul Rosenberg: I would love to hear it so whenever you guys are ready we are putting out.
On the Grammys 2025
Eminem: It’s very stiff competition. Kendrick is gonna sweep that s–t. He’s going to win and he should.
Paul Rosenberg: Kendrick should win some awards and I’m not talking about the categories you [Eminem] are in. He definitely should win but lets see what happens.
Upcoming Shady Records projects
Paul Rosenberg: We’ve got projects on the way from Westside Boogie, from Ez Mil and GRIP.
Eminem: How much work do you want me to do here? 50 [Cent] album, a Bad Meets Evil album, Encore 3. Encore 2? There’s no 2. Or just go straight to 3?
On Cardi B
Eminem and Paul Rosenberg: I love Cardi B too. [She does not give a f–k.] Not one. [She says exactly what’s on her mind and is not afraid of nobody.] I used to be like that.
Snoop Dogg has recently sat down with DJ Whoo Kid to promote his new album “Missionary” with Dr. Dre. At one point of the interview, the West Coast legend talked about “Gunz N Smoke” song, which is on his new album and features 50 Cent and Eminem.
“Getting them [50 Cent and Eminem] on a record meant a lot. I wanted him and Eminem on. And Dre wanted them on. It was the first that that everyone agreed that was the perfect song everybody to get on. Let’s get it done. And 50 went first. He knocked his s–t out first which made it hard for me because I had to come behind him. And then Eminem. He always just kills s–t. He don’t give a f–k who’s before him. You just better not go after him.”
“When I rap with Eminem. I know I gotta be the f–k way up cause this ni–a ain’t playing. He makes you go hard. He’s the type of ni–a that when you finish the song he gon’ go back and change and do four more bars. I was like ‘n-gga you cheating man.’ Why you get four more bars? You motherf–ker you already cut my head off and now you going with four more bars? Goddamn it Marshall, you bad mothef–ker. I’m glad you on my team.”
DJ Whoo Kid also revealed that he has an Eminem interview coming. You can watch Snoop’s interview below:
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre‘s Missionary album is set to debut next week’s US Billboard 200 chart and its not going to be on high place as we were probably expecting.
According to HITSDailyDouble, the much-anticipated album from the iconic West Coast duo is projected to earn just 36,000 equivalent units in its first week. With that number, the project will likely debut at number 20 on the Billboard 200, behind previously-released rap albums such as Tyler, The Creator‘s Chromakopia and Kendrick Lamar‘s GNX.
If the forecast is accurate, Missionary would be one of Snoop’s least commercially successful albums and by far Dre’s worst performing release, even though album includes some heavyweight features like Eminem, 50 Cent, Sting and Jelly Roll. Snoop has dropped a series of low-selling projects in recent years, with Bible of Love, Algorithm and Bacc on Death Row all struggling to crack the top 100 on the Billboard 200.
Dre (who produced Missionary but isn’t technically billed as a lead artist) has never debuted outside of the top 10 or sold less than 200,000 first-week units. Despite this, the N.W.A legend has heaped high praise on Missionary in terms of its quality, calling it one of the best efforts of his decorated career.
Snoop Dogg has dropped Missionary, his highly anticipated Dr. Dre-produced new album. The 16 song project features Eminem, 50 Cent, BJ The Chicago Kid, Coco Sarai, Method Man, Sting, K.A.A.N., Jelly Roll, Alus, and Jhene Aiko. Dr. Dre hasn’t produced a full Snoop project since 1993’s Doggystyle, Snoop’s full length debut. Snoop and Dre’s reunion hits hard sonically, with Dre’s signature crisp drums and orchestrated production, and Snoop’s updated rhyme flow.
Some of the album’s highlights are the songs with featured MC’s. “Skyscrapers” sees Method Man shine as usual. On a recent Drink Champs episode Meth spoke of the collaboration. “Every time I work with Dre I feel like I need a do over. The first time that I spit a verse with him, it wasn’t up to par for me, and Dre was gracious enough not to put it put, even though it leaked anyway. The next shot I got is for [Missionary]. He got a lotta fire s–t on that joint, and still feel I could have did a little bit more, but I’m always gonna feel like that.”
“Gunz N Smoke” features 50 Cent spitting a triplet styled verse, and Eminem delivering a memorable multi syllabic verse. Other standouts include “Outta Da Blue”, “Gorgeous”, and “Now Or Never”.
Snoop and Dre also dropped the Missionary short film, which features a full script starring Dre and Snoop with cameos from 50 Cent, Jhene Aiko and narration by Method Man. There is also a dead body in the film that wears Eminem Air Jordan’s. Watch it below:
