Eladio Carrión talks how Eminem influenced him as a writer

Eladio Carrión, rapper and singer of Latin trap and reggaeton, has recently dropped by the neighborhood to speak with Big Boy about working with 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Bad Bunny, and Future on his new album 3MEN2 KBRN.

He also talked his professional swimming career, switching from comedy to music, losing his dog, and his upcoming performance at Coachella.

At one point of the interview, Eladio Carrión spoke how Eminem and 50 Cent influenced his writing style: “I have always loved to rhyme. I am big Eminem fan and Lil Wayne and 50 Cent. So, I always had that curiosity for clever wordplay…I always thought, like Eminem, how can I do music like him and make people feel it. Em, 50, Wayne showed me how to write rap. And Kanye West was the first rapper who made me feel the beat.”

This is not the first time Eladio Carrión gave Eminem his flowers. Last year, during the conversation with XXL magazine, the Puerto Rican artist revealed that Nas and Slim Shady introduced him to rap: “When I was like, in the first grade, I’d be hearing 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Nas, Eminem’s Curtain Call. Jay-Z, Big L. I was introduced to hip-hop very early. Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, all of that. my favorite rappers like Big Sean, Lil Wayne, Eminem, 50, each of those rappers taught me something. Like 50 Cent, he taught me the importance of feeling sure about yourself when you rap. Eminem taught me about deliveries and wordplay. Big Sean also, his delivery and wordplay is crazy. Lil Wayne, you don’t have to wait every four bars to do a punch line. You could do a punch line every bar. Every bar there could be a punch line.”
